The point is that Microsoft shouldn't be singled out just because they have a much larger market share. Either all companies that manufacturer and sell OSs do this or none of them do. It's like punishing Microsoft for being successful.

If this is anything, it's too little too late. The EU should had done this 8 years ago when XP first showed up. If they had, we would probably see a larger spread of browsers out there nowadays....or at least a couple more with larger market shares. But to force MS to do it now, mostly due to the Opera guys freaking out and screaming sour grapes even after they've caved to most the EU's demands, seems a little petty to me.
I dunno. The whole thing smacks of dumb.
