I'm running Thief 2 in Linux Mint under Wine, I have the latest Tafferpatcher 212 Beta installed (from here: (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131106)). On Asus eeepc 1215n (Nvidia Optimus graphics driver)
Everything seems to run perfectly. I ran through the first level and didn't find any faults, except for the fact that there is no onscreen text: no text under inventory items or weapons, no quicksave confirmation, no 'secrets found/unlocked' confirmations etc.
At a push I could probably work around this, but I think it's interfering with the loot objectives - because there's no text to tell me how much gold/gems I have, I don't think the game is registering any loot at all. I went through the loot map and collecting everything, but the objective was never filled.
I have taken a look at the cam_ext.cfg, but I'm not sure what edits I should be making.
Any help much appreciated!
