That's what we tell ourselves. I'm still wondering at the lack of iconography for both Factions. We've seen Keeper statues, and one interview mentioned we'd see weird Mechanist machinery.

I keep holding on to the hope that at least some of the factions will be included. Keeper statues and Mechanist machinery is promising, imo. Hopefully, EM will flesh those out those arcs and not make them nothing more than references to the past Thief games.
