Thief has always had a lot of stuff from the late 1800s through 1930-ish and sci-fi futuristic stuff we won't be seeing for awhile, but they also have the anachronism that some Tesla-like inventor was able to get his/her work put into wide use, which certainly would've vastly altered our own progress. Even TDS had it but not nearly as much as TDP, never mind TMA. Heck, hand-powered submarines go back earlier than the late 1800s, and steam-power is definitely not Medieval.
But yeah, I haven't seen any iconography in any of the shots I've looked at for it, so the Hammerite presence is much less than ever.

I hope its not too modern and they don't have things like guns and submarines.
Umm... not sure if you were being ironic, but there were submarines in TMA. :D
Apart from that i don't have anything to add to this or any other discussion about the new Thief here. Pointless to discuss with hardliners who already built their opinion about this based on the poor facts present.

Like the opinions on how great it will be and everyone else needs to shut up?

In the absence of information should one assume the best or assume the worst? What's the correct answer?

Neither view is balanced, but one is less unwise.
Fab image and caption, thiefobsessedgirl, it made me laugh.

Wow, i never said so i think? Again you're not really talking facts, are you?
jtr7 on 21/3/2013 at 23:11
I didn't say you said that. I don't know who you had in mind. I want to know if you included both sides and the middle or favor one over the other. I'm seeking facts.

There are not enough facts on display to make a conclusive statement!
All the screenshots so far have featured streets, shops or the interior of a brothel, the Hammers would only be in these areas down to a glitch in the game engine (or a wayward Hammerite Priest 'tending his flock' at the House of Blossoms). The fact that a large, clearly religious building features in many of the of concept sketches heavily implies that the Builder religion will still be in game and so the Hammers will be at least mentioned if not seen

It's unusual to see so many screenshots with no Hammer anything. There is no Hammerite iconography in former Hammerite locations, like the Clock Tower, inside and out, so they probably didn't rebuild it, and maybe that's why it's in disrepair, too. The information/rumor that it's Garrett's hideout and people stay out because it's rumored to be haunted offers a lot of avenues to imagine until we learn the truth. There're more signs that Keeper and Hammer sites have been taken over and repurposed.

There is also no sign of them in the new trailer. Could they really drop such an iconic faction? And for what, just some generic city guard?
