there's several other "glow" mods. i turned mine off too. then wanted them back, so i just downloaded the file:

Enchantment Color Enhancer by Evil Sorceror

it's a mod that actually uses a very lite glow, with slightly altered colors from the MW originals... to enhance the textures under the glow. it's really quite nice. much better than no-glo and better than MW's original total "plastic" effect.

it's at the summit... search for the name and you'll get a hit.
