- What does the CM display say?
- Have you tried starting a new game, just to test?
- What version of the SS2Tool, if any, have you used?

Try rightclicking the CM display. If the display becomes empty, do not save. Go to the main menu, then options, and load one of the standard key bind sets. Tell me.

yeah, i'm solid now. i don't know what happened. but i think it did have something to do with the key bindings. I kept changing them to suit me and certain changes made certain things malfunction (though i couldn't pin point it exactly), certain changes made it impossible to "use" items and certain changes got rid of the CM modules.... but i've found a happy medium where the controls work for me and i don't seem to be missing any functionality.

Yeah, something about the key-binds can completely break the CM system. Add that to the broken use/shoot mode problem and the fact that you have to rebind quick-saves so they aren't overwritten.
All stuff that's been malfunctioning since the day SS2 hit the shelves. Sometimes I think the fact that SS2 wasn't as successful as it could have been is more down to these little annoyances than anything to do with the game itself. Which could have been ironed out within a testing phase for which they probably didn't have much time.

That's a new one to me. Which keybinds break cybermodules?

I don't know! \:D/
I've tested it though and I could send you a key binds file that breaks CMs after right-clicking the CM display, if you're really interested.
