I saw Ukrainian women. And I can say that I understand why they're not in the Zone. As dracflamoc said, "It'd be a glorified porn dialer ".

Not if they wear armors and clothing similar to the men.
I seriously think the game would have been more immersive that way, there is no real reason why there are no women who wanted to go into the Zone and become Stalkers. And even if they have less chance to survive, wouldn't we at least find corpses of them?

This never bothered me. From the constant grunting of the soldiers you can tell the zone's no place any women would want to be. Although neutral zones like the bar or scientists' camp (I really feel this part of the game is so inept and incomplete vs. the other parts, too few living scientists. I imagined a field hospital/lab with big white tents, stuff stashed all around and cadavers laid out on surgical beds) could've had a few women, in the end I think it's not so strange that a 30 mile zone would have no women.
When I think of Stalker, I don't think "hot mamas," I think of a bloodsucker crouch-walking towards me slowly in the sewer area with the bubbly green fruitpunches all around. That was my first encounter with one of those and damn is it memorable.
