No. 2, Nightmare on Remake Street - by Sulphur

So, not content with the rash of horrifyingly awful sequels and Wes Craven's own reimagining in New Nightmare, dashingly handsome main man Freddy Krueger is all set to return in New Line Cinema's remake of the original movie.
Have a (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-tSvrkKx2Y) trailer. Before you watch it, please note that it has only been approved for
appropriate audiences, so if you're not, kindly get the fuck out.
Also, it's being produced by Michael Bay.

This has been all over io9 for months. Looks OK actually, but it'll probably be a sack.
Why remake everything ffs? Just goes on and on. In fact io9 have a recent article about what to make, sci-fi wise, and what not to remake. Which is just about anything.

Looks like a well made movie that completely misses the point, the guy is evil, leave it at that.

Are there going to be a lot of explosions? Because, I remember thinking to myself that the NOES movies needed a lot more explosions.

Also, why bother replacing Robert England if the character design is exactly the same. What a terrible idea.

Because the acting's going to make a big difference? I'm not particularly interested in this film, but if there's anything that might make me interested, it's Jackie Earle Haley.

There wasn't much to judge in that trailer but as far as I can see it appears to be exactly the same performance as the original NoES (before Freddy went camp and quiptastic.)
Also, don't like how that trailer implied he was wrongly accused of being a paedo. If that is the case, then that's a pretty enormous case of missing the point.

Wait, so why is this guy going around and killing people with claw-blades? Is there a motive or it a "just for kicks" thing?
p.s. so tired of the "creepy innocent little girls" trope

He does it for kicks. Get with the program.
A prequel would be better.
