Some have greater capacity than others, but no one completely lacks this most profound corruption. No one can say for certain that under no circumstances would they ever murder another person--if someone does, you should be wary, even afraid, because it is obvious that they are either lying or know so little about themselves that they are dangerous.

There are better ways to contain that darkness than taking away a useful tool, be it a pipe wrench, a car, a shovel, a chainsaw or a firearm. Any of these objects can kill a human. Removing them will do nothing to reduce our capacity to kill.

It's quite interesting how the incidents of school shootings go up as you draw closer to the present... closer to a time when parents aren't permitted to discipline their children for fear of accusations of abuse. Closer to a time when parents spend more time away from their children, working to make ends meet in a increasingly inflated economy. Closer to a time when children are becoming more and more insulated from the realities of the world. Closer to a time when firearms are increasingly vilified by the government and news media, when fewer children are instructed in their proper and safe use. Closer to a time when gun control has been stronger than ever.

Of course correlation doesn't always lead to causation, but it is certainly food for thought...
