but if I'm reading this correctly you're anti-self defense? No wonder this conversation has gone down the shitter.
Re-read my previous post.
I was being sarcastic because catbarf, mopgoblin are pulling the most ridiculous strawmen out of their collective ass - hence the "special" logic comment.
Of course I believe in self-defense (bokken!) and in a kill or be killed situation that should be taken to it's logical conclusion. In fact I think that the UK is really laking in this area as you can be the one in the dock if you're attacked by a gang and give them all a good thrashing.

Governments record accidental deaths and every other kind of crime too so I don't think they're recording gun crime cause it's special.
Crime is recorded in categories BECAUSE some types are special. Rape up 400% but petty crime down 66%? Someone is going to take notice and they should.

I submit the following: your inability to see even an internet discussion to the end is indicative of your general outlook and behaviour which in turn is the reason you live in a place where you do not feel safe, and is also why you are unable to change your circumstances.
Good luck.
Jesus Christ. I've never wanted to skullfuck someone so badly.

Do you trust the police and the law system to handle the aftermath properly or not? I trust them to do their job. You Americans seem to have more doubts on this. You shouldn't kill a person just because you fear they might do harm to you in the future...
Fett is talking life or death situation here. Big difference between handing over your wallet and fighting for your life. Sure, I trust the police to handle the investigation of my murder seriously, but I'm still dead. That kinda sucks.
When your life is threatened, your goal should be to end the threat as quickly and as safely as possible. If you can de-escalate or run away, great. However, this is not always a realistic option. I'm certainly not going to weep for some parolee who tried to violate the wrong person in order to get his next fix.

Fair enough and I am on the same line with you and Fett here, but true life or death situations don't occur "that" much. Lots of robbers can be scared away by simply making a ruckus. They don't want to get caught after all. I guess what I am worried about is that people take this life or death attitude to situations that doesn't suit it.

Yes. You should never kill anyone, even in self-defense.

And you actually think that I, or anyone else, should take your contradicting views seriously, especially when you're this much of a prick about it?
Fuck you. Just fuck you. I don't have to listen to anyone who belittles another person and the impossible situation they're in just to further their own argument. Go die in a fire. An AIDS fire.

That's exactly what I just said, or at least an approximation of it when using "special" logic.

The first post, which is your second quote, was (as I have stated to fett in this very thread) obviously sarcastic. The second post, your first quote, was the clarification to fett.
beaten by IgglesA clarification, I might add (DEAR WATSON) that
explicitly explains what I have just re-stated in this thread.
Now just how on Earth is
anyone supposed to take you seriously when you are too dense to understand this? Hey guys, lets make rocket launchers and cluster bombs legal for the general public - cars and coke cans are dangerous too!

your contradicting views
I don't have contradicting views on this though.
Why are you having a hissy fit now? Because I've hit the nail on the head? The bullet on the porch oh shi someone broken my car waaaaaah?
I'll refrain from being a prick when you do. Does this ring a bell?
Quote:
god are you STILL going on about this?
we get it GUNZ R BAD AND IM SMARTR TAHN U yeah yeah whatever
psst. best check outside i think i hear a prowler he might have a gun lol
Ok, seriously now. I do have sympathy for your predicament, and I've stated that although I disagree with you I can understand why you'd want a gun. I probably would. But I have a big issue with that - the fact that a gun culture exists that might foster this kind of feeling. I'm certainly not against self defense, think that some of the laws in the UK regarding it are crazy but I equally think that it's gone too far in US.
