dethtoll - I understand why you feel the need for a gun. In your situation I might too. But that is why I'd leave. I know it's not easy for people to up and move, and certainly don't think it's the solution to everything. But if I felt my life was in danger I would and if you were given a 100% guarantee that if you didn't move by the end of next month you'd be dead by the end of the the month after you'd move faster than you could remember what month it is.

Dethtoll wants a firearm for defense. There is no malicious intent there. He probably has a car for transportation. A car does not kill with malicious intent either. The constant in both of them is that neither will be used to intentionally harm someone (except in self-defense). Background checks are fine. That helps keep guns from criminals. But banning them outright is idiocy.
