The messaging in branding and advertising is crystal clear here. The disaster days of their weird, confusing marketing and design concepts from the Iwata era (eg Wii U) are LONG behind them now.

That was a good teaser. The way they animate the Switch 1 turning into 2 gives you a really solid idea of how it'll look and feel. IGN did a video speculating about details in the vid and it's mostly stuff that's obvious from just looking at the teaser BUT one interesting detail is that it looks like the joycons will be able to be used as mice!?

That would open up the window for a lot of cool mouse-centric PC games getting ported to this thing, and allow for mouse-aiming in FPSes. (I don't mind gamepad aiming, but I know a lot of PC gamers are allergic to the concept)

If the backwards compatibility means that stuff like the Arkham games actually run well then I'll probably grab one next year, otherwise I guess I'll wait for the exclusives to roll out.
Edit: I thought about it more, I'll pick one up when:
- there's an OLED model
- there's a good exclusive mario or zelda game
- switch 1 ports that don't run well are rock solid
- assuming the joycons are still garbage, there's a hori pro split controller
- 2tb sdxc cards are affordable
- there's a decent flip grip or equivalent

Joycons are the worst part about the the Switch. They wobble in their slots, they're tiny and cramped, the vibration is weak, and worst of all the joysticks inevitably start to drift (at least all of mine do). Hopefully the new Switch fixes all that. For a reveal this trailer revealed surprisingly little.
