Just a quick run-down of some of their manifesto policies (just looked it up on their website):
- zero imigration, forced emigration of criminals and illegal imigrants, voluntary resettlement for anyone who is not "ethnically British".
- Withdraw from the EU, instead establish free trade with former colonies.
- Introduction of corporal and capital punishment.
- Reduction in the number of foreign goods imported to the UK, subsidise UK industry and establish more co-operatives.
- Foreign aid cancelled (or linked to countries willing to take in people voluntarily leaving, they're a bit contradictory about this).
- Introduce conscription.
- Withdraw from NATO.
I remember hearing somewhere that they plan to abolish income tax and replace it with a high level of VAT, which would trash the economy pretty much overnight  I think they've dropped the plans though, but not wanting free trade with the EU would be almost as bad.
Some of these ideas are plain wierd, some are meant to be populist with their core supporters, and some are very bad indeed. They seem a strange mix of the far-left and far-right.

I mean, here is a man whose answer to the question "are you a holocaust denier?" is "I don't have a conviction for holocaust denial."
Classic by Griffin, the only reason he doesn't have a conviction for it is because it's not illegal in the UK...

(and with our shitty election system, they wouldn't even need a majority)
They have no seats in Parliament and control no local councils. They just have a few councillors, and I reckon if any of them had done anything of note, we'd have heard about it. The thing about FPP is that it takes a lot of support just to get one seat, which I think is a good way of filtering out the nutters.
The European Parliament uses PR, and the BNP has two seats there. And their equivalent parties from the rest of Europe also have a fair number.
When you consider that the the party's main tactic is to exploit reasonable concerns which have been ignored by the main parties, it says something good about Britain that the BNP is still so puny. Our combination of the FPP system and our "lack of intellectual fascism" (Nick Griffin quote) have kept them well out of the way.

That's what I don't get. Hearing people at my school, you'd think the BNP was on some sort of unstoppable rise to power and was a serious threat to Britain, when as far as I can tell this is simply not true.

Yes, this is one of the benefits of the First-Past-The-Post system we have here - it keeps loonies out of power. It also leads to skewed representation in Parliament however, so there were plans to change it at some point. Maybe this plan will be put on hold now?
The BNP won't get into the UK Parliament for a very long time, since their support is highly concentrated in small areas of towns - this gets them a few seats at local councils, but not in a 100,000-population parliamentary constituency.

Considering your ancestry, the first thing you should do in that situation is tap that genetic rage and start kicking back.
Afterwards, buy a longboat and sail off to find a really cold and shitty place to live. Call it Fort Awesome Town.

Doesn't matter, so long as you are "White Caucasian", they don't care.
It's the darkies who really need to be worried.
