I had a large supply of ammo, medkits and weapons in abandoned shed in Military Warehouses area and whenever I approached it at the distance of 100 metres or so, the game has stopped for like 8-10 seconds - surely it checked and loaded all that stuff of mine.
Yes, but when you stash your stuff in a 'permanent body' - it doesn't conduce to stuttering. It does only if a stash is in a box somehow

That makes no sense at all. How are bodies different than boxes in terms of storing items?

It seems so, try it.

I'll be damned.
The coders got some explaining to do here.

Maybe the items in bodies are loaded at level loading time, whereas items in stashes are only loaded when we get close to them.

Why yes, it may have some sense actually- permanent bodies are solid part of the level, while the boxes serve as random stashes.
That said, permanent bodies are a rather stupid thing.
Has it ever happened to you that examination of a freshly killed enemy has notified you of that person's stash in a container which you established as your own personal stash and when you got back to it, you found new equipment in that container?

I always store my items only in two containers, and they aren't used by anyone else
Stashing stuff in dead bodies seems a bit.... weird, to say the least. I'm not a pervert :p
Rogue Keeper on 8/11/2007 at 12:15
Easy, stashing things on dead bodies hasn't been diagnosed as paraphilia yet. Besides it might be practical sometimes. In the Zone, good manners of distinguished gentlemans are redundant. This is War.

Happens to me all the time. Since I never leave a single object behind, I'm always using stashes to store stuff to be moved later.

 I wouldn't do that for any reward :p There are tons of weapons laying around after my quest marathon for Voronin and Lukash, I just don't see a reason to pick up worse weapon or armour (and overload myself) than I already have. For final part - Red Forest and beyond, I bought Army body armour for 160.000 and I still have about 250.000.
