We're not going extinct, dude. We have (in spades) all of the characteristics associated with surviving mass extinction events - cosmopolitan distribution, large population, generalist diet and ability to exploit novel resources. Add to that the ability to cooperate (which we actually do, come on. We build stuff together when we need to.) and I think it would take something really bad to knock us out completely. Like multiple large impactors or something.

Not extinct, but we're being put in our rightful place.
There is no rightful place, there just is what there is.

We aren't really that important, and what comes next may SURPRISE YOU
Fixed that for you :joke:

honestly, a massive extinction event would probably band us all together and force into cooperating. The whole common enemy type thing. Until we recover and forget, and the cycle of destruction begins anew

It would take something as cataclysmic as a toxic atmosphere to wipe humans out entirely. We're just too damned tough. Possibly the (

Say hello to the sixth mass extinction (scientifically proven). World is absolutely stressed to the core and something's got to give in. Psychology first. You'll see it come in forms of religion, race, politics, economy, power grabs, lone wolf attacks, whatever. Intellectualize these incidents all you want by throwing around small terms like "wahhabism" "black lives matter" "gun control" etc, waste of time really
hey look I'm being an alarmist nutjob, we're gonna be okay right guys?
Probably not. Interestingly enough, there are some fairly sophisticated cyclical forecast models out there. There are a couple of economists who have noticed that the last time all the current trends that exist nowadays were in play on a global scale, we got the period that consisted of the American and French revolutions......basically the entire status quo and power structure was overturned on a global scale. We can probably expect the same thing to happen now except the most probable course of events is a collapse of Western society to be followed a century of Chinese dominance.
Not a good thing. You think REPUBLICANS are racist? They've got absolutely nothing on how the Chinese treat blacks and gays.
faetal on 21/7/2016 at 23:15
They are still pretty awful though.

Looks like they had another attack: (

Republicans aren't as bad as you all think. Their fight at this point consist of not wanting shop owners to be forced to participate....which is the same view held by pro LGBT advocate patrick stewart, although Republicans articulate it very poorly by comparison. Also keep in mind that the current darling of the Republican Media, Milo Yiannopolis, isn't just a gay brit. The guy is absolutely FLAMING
Inline Image:
http://media.breitbart.com/media/2016/06/Milo-screen_shot_2016-06-02_at_7.45.08_pm-640x480.jpgThere's a big difference between how the media talks about Republicans and what the Republicans you meet on the street are like. They're a hell of a lot more tolerant than the groups that you're defending in this thread...which is one of Milo's talking points. In his words "It's simple self interest for me to oppose in ideology that wants to see me dead", so he is very much anti-Islam.
Sample of how he behaves if you aren't familiar with it yet.

Don't rule out people going extinct in some areas though. Remember the Mouse Utopia experiment?

Extinct 'in some areas' isn't extinct
