Why was it not here? Too early? Cannot talk about it? You seem to feel free to talk about shootings in the USA with are willing to condemn us all.
By "You" who are you referring to? TTLG or the media? If media, which media?
If you were referring to TTLG: Startup your own thread if something is of issue to you (as you have). Absolutely nothing stopping you from that.
If media: Media over here in Australia across all channels had QUITE a fair bit of press coverage of the Nice attack. These days if it's not covered on the news for whatever reason, chances are there will be people posting on Facebook, forums etc etc.

I didn't post a reaction on Facebook, nor did I post anything anywhere else. That was deliberate. It happens everywhere now and it happens every day now. Picking Nice out of all the others just because it happened to be my country seems arbitrary.
I grieve, and I'm sad, and I'm wondering when it's going to hit the city I live in, because Barcelona seems just like such a perfect potential target and we had several close calls already. But I will not let it affect my life, because that's what they want.
I grieve and I am sad, for my friends and colleagues from Turkey, Syria and everywhere else, I'm concerned for my family in France, and I am coldly furious at our leadership for letting this happen.
But I cannot and will not let this madness affect my life, and I will no longer partake in the social media lamentation game.
That's all I have to say about it.

Actually, ISIS
has claimed responsibility. "The person who carried out the operation in Nice, France, to run down people was one of the soldiers of Islamic State," the news agency Amaq, which supports Islamic State, said via its Telegram account.
They'd claim responsibility for bad weather if they could.
There isn't any evidence for it yet.

The guy had guns and explosives in his truck. He did not target a specific institution, building, organization or group of people. He did not publish a political statement or personal statement before his action. His actions were not for monetary or personal gain.
It seems all he wanted to do was kill as many people as possible.
When have we seen this before ? Oh, in March in Belgium. Last November in Paris.
Old fashioned European terrorists targeted specific people or groups. ETA and RAF targeted specific people (politicians, police and army officers, judges, industry leaders). And that was decades ago. This attack has IS written all over it.
You are an apologist. Apologists are terrible. All they do is try to sabotage discussion. They try to obfuscate thoughts. All they do is try to spin down things. Or put the blame somewhere else, to protect the guilty. You are not constructive. You don't help anyone. All you do is make it so that your opponents get more pissed off. This attack is 99.99% certain inspired by IS. And thus by Islam. Just like the attacks in Paris and Brussels. Don't try to deny that.

In case you haven't noticed bjack, TTLG is first and foremost a gaming site, not a current events blog. Do you expect every hobby/interest forum on the net to turn their discussions to Islamic terrorism? And it's not like we haven't covered this ground before after other attacks.

I am frankly flattered that people have posted on this thread.
You must have either catastrophically low self-esteem or raging egomania if you manage to dredge flattery out of people commenting on your hyperbolic clown show.

Sod off Gryz, he's not an apologist, he's just not jumping to conclusions.

IS = Islam as much as the KKK = Christianity.

You are correct.
The white supremacist thoughts come from Christian supremacy. Europeans have used the bible for ages to justify why it was ok for us to invade and colonize other countries, rule over their population, take slaves, etc. It was the bible that told us that black people we closer to animals than they were to us. This idea is as old as the Crusades.
Only after WWII we got control over Christianity. Before WWII Christianity had a huge direct and indirect impact on European life and European politics. Only in the fifties and sixties humanity (in Europa) was able to kick those Christian dogs into the corner where they belonged. And if they dared to speak, we'd kick them back in their corner.
Am I getting old ? Am I the only one here that realizes that religion is a destructive force ? It doesn't matter if it's Christianity or Islam or any other religion. Religion is the strongest conservative force. It opposes progress. It opposes science. We had 1000 years of almost no scientific progress during the dark ages (500-1500) because the Christian church didn't want people to do science or research, didn't want them to examine the human body. Why ? Fuck knows why. Because it would contradict things in the bible ? Because life is given by god, and not made with DNA ? Because god lives in the sky, so flight is blasphemy ? We've had centuries of war between Catholics and Protestants in Europe. Religion tries to ban homosexuality. Religion teaches us that women are inferior. (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SJ6AV31MxA) Religion is a cancer.
You guys think that religion is like a social club. You go to church on Sundays, or to the mosque on Fridays. And you go to football on Tuesdays. And drink a pint on Saturday night. You think religion is innocent. It isn't. But people forget quickly.

Yes, you're literally totally the only one here gracing us all ignorant masses with your enlightenment and clear-headed insights.
Fuck off, you sanctimonious prick.
