Can you take a screenshot? Not sure what you mean by a "bundled mess," but I can tell you that the new patch does not alter the graphics of the game in any way. Some of the other mods installed by Tafferpatcher do, however. More details would be good, tell us what you're seeing.

and your thief2.log as well (should be directly in your Thief2 folder).

When you get up close to the keyhole on the gate you can hardly tell it's a keyhole because it's just a mess of pixels

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately nothing changes, I also tried that together with d3d_disp_sw_cc but if I enable it I can only see a black screen "in game" while the menus work fine and are gamma sensitive!
:-(
Any new solution about the Gamma problem?

It'd be nice to have an image as evidence for this. We were discussing the feature, but I haven't seen anything of it. And I only just recently got the game running again. :erg:
Though what you're saying is probably true. A good reason why these re-texturing projects are coming into the fray now. Though have you tried NV's enhancement pack, by any chance?
No I have not I believe. Where would I find it exactly?

I'm getting through Cragscleft and the zombies seem pretty broken. They no longer get up after being hacked down, and when I reload, they stand upright and stare at me, but can't harm me or be harmed. Is this a bug in NewDark? It hasn't happened any other time I've played TDP/Gold.

this sometimes happens. and sometimes it doesn't. no known fix.

Hmmm, I tried it, but guards are still insanely sensitive. I was playing Bafford's and I knocked out one of the archers on the balcony's in the front hallway. The ones that are on the second floor. I had doused the torch so I was in pitch black. Well when I knocked out the archer, the one on the other side of the room on the other balcony, exclaimed that he had seen something. The "woah, did I just see something?" or something similar to that.
After going around to knock him out, I KOed the patrolling guard in that little balcony. I swear to god, the archer HEARD him getting KOed and started looking around for something. Well I had already doused the fireplace and was crouched in complete darkness, the lightgem was at lowest setting.
He walked into the room searching, and saw me and started shooting arrows at me.
Even in Thief 2 on the hardest setting, guards were never this crazy sensitive.
Any other suggestion? The only thing I didn't do was to start a new game after replacing the dark.gam file. I'll try that and see if it makes a difference.

I'm wondering if it might be because you're using the Ultimate Dark mod. There's an old mod that increases the difficulty of the game by modifying the dark.gam file IIRC, and what you describe made me think of that mod.

I am using Steam version of Thief Gold with no other patches then TFix latest version.
