1.19 makes the movies playable with modern codecs
Uh, sort of. What NewDark does is decode videos itself (via the FFmpeg DLL), vs the old, problematic approach of relying on Windows to do it.

Well, what this means to me is a fresh install, dromed trick-out and...... a new map........:thumb: I have been out of the loop for years, whats the best (HQ) resource for textures?? :erg:

Well, first of all you don't need ddfix anymore and the game will run without needing to apply a single-core patch or anything of the sort. You should also notice that in thief 2's options menu that your resolution selection should show all of the resolutions for your monitor. (No need for widescreen patch.) The sky should look better. However, lighting will not look any different unless you are playing a newly released 1.19 FM that uses the new 32-bit lightmaps.
There's also a ton of configuration options outside of the game in cam_ext.cfg for example. Oh, and I seem to remember that you don't need indeo codec anymore I don't think, since 1.19 makes the movies playable with modern codecs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. There may be more that I'm forgetting. There is of course new stuff for dromed users, but your question wasn't about that so I won't go into detail on that.
thanks for clearing up, yes i noticed that i have a larger choice of resolution. I will play some new decent T2 FMS, i was away playing FMs on TDM.

Some of the Halloween Contest entries say they need New Dark(semi official nick for new patch) but no other ones that I am aware of.
Its a bit soon to expect a new mission based on it yet really . FM's take a long time to make.
Don't worry they will be coming, try some older ones that were hard on systems when they first came out they will run much better now.

I am looking for big mansion type missions, or city missions. No zombie or haunts, just guards and puzzles. Any decent ones released after 2010? The other major ones i completed.

You'll need to search around in Fan Missions. Here's a link to (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138745) Greatest Fan Missions Timeline which gives details up to 2011. I suggest you look at the Readmes but there are a few in the 2011 list that don't have undead. There is the Fan Mission Listing by Type but it's not up to date yet. You could also look for missions in the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124349) General Fan Mission Review Thread which should give you a good idea of what sort of missions there are for 2011 onwards.

@ Metalhead - Dromed questions should be in the Editor's Guild so I've moved your posts there.

Respectfully, I did try asking there. No responses in two or three days. Got one here in a couple of hours. If this is "THE" 1.19 thread it seems reasonable to ask simple dromed questions too.

I'm sorry you've not received a response as quickly as you'd like in the Editors' Guild and I'd suggest bumping your thread after a couple of days in future. Needless to say, TTLG is organised along certain lines and editing questions belong there.
