I'm seeing something weird here, not sure if it's "normal" and I'm missing something or it's related to 1.19 and I'm missing something. Anyway, with a new .cow file I'm just stating to play with the lighting, and while it's coming out right on brushes, all objects & AI's seem to be lit up like they get when frobbable, even when they should be in pitch darkness.

The exe that comes with the new patch is called thief2.exe and your still using the shortcut for Thief.exe so rename or delete thief.exe then rename thief2.exe to thief.exe
If your still having trouble let us know.

Sounds like you have lit_obj_toggle turned on.
Those seem to be a little buggy in 1.19, and shouldn't really be used, according to the modder's notes:

Yup that was it alright. Used the proper command, bumped right into the AI I was looking for in the dark, and was half dead before I realized he was there.:cheeky: No room brushes in this area yet...

Can you tell me how to install the ntex graphics pack to Thief 1.19? Now that DDFix is outdated, what to do with the ntex pack to get it working?

if you had it working with ddfixed exe, it should work with the NewDark exe as well, because believe it or not, it is backward compatible with ddfix overrides.

I really appreciate your help, but it's still very unclear to me. I did later find the readme but it has some abbreviations I just don't understand like Var, Dir, etc. I can no longer find the Readme as I extracted the T1 file because I'm pretty sure I was supposed to do that for whatever reason.
All I know is, I have to do some sort of editing in some .cfg file, and some other editing in an .ini file. However, what I'm supposed to type where, or what I'm supposed to delete where is just entirely unclear to me. I have never manually changed any kind of script for game files ever. All I know is if I'm missing some sort of curiously placed ; or - or whatever it isn't going to work. Basically its a language I don't speak and absolutely nothing about it is self evident to me. I have never learned the basics for doing stuff like this. :erg:
To put it simply, explaining to me how to do this, will be like explaining it to your grandfather. I know how to navigate windows, that's about it lol.
I know I'm asking a huge favour, but I really do need to almost be walked through it.
