I've been playing Thief 2 again @ 1080p with this new patch. Incredible! But in "Mission 2: Shipping and receiving" I noticed a few guards getting stuck on Barrels and stairs... all the time. Is this a bug in the new patch, or has it always been this way? Isn't the pathfinding of the guards part of the map itself? If so, are there any "fixed" versions of the maps?

Constance: Can you please state your graphics driver's versions you used before and after? Some people may encounter the same problem, so I think it'd be useful to know which driver's version is most suitable for these new executables.
Well I think I was using Catalyst 12.6 (or maybe that was even 12.4 ?) ; anyway installing the 12.8 fixed the issue — a reboot did not.

Things have been really slow the past week so I've been trying to play with different settings in 1.19. To make things easier to read I did this up real quick:

Yeah it's ugly but it flows a littler easier then trying to read the cam_ext.cfg file. I don't know if it'll come in handy for anyone, but any suggestions are welcome.

Hi,
Just reinstalling Thief Gold, Thief 2 and SS2 after a long while with the new updates. Everything working fine and even in stereo 3D too (3D Vision), but I have a question about how using EAX under OpenAL compares to using it under Alchemy? I do have an old Creative Audigy 2 I could install if the EAX is going to be better with Alchemy than I'm currently getting with OpenAL on my Asus Xonar.
Basically am I getting the full EAX experience? Cheers.

Hey, I recently just bought Thief Gold off Steam, and quickly found this thread afterwords. I got really excited, but when it came to installing the patch I don't know what I did wrong. It didn't work at all. Maybe it's because I got it off Steam, I'm not too sure.
So this is exactly what I did. I downloaded Thief Gold, it's in my C drive. I downloaded the "Thief 2 V1.19" because I herd it works with Thief Gold. I extracted the files into the Thief Gold folder in my C drive, and absolutely nothing happened. Not sure where I went wrong. The files are still there, and I've just been playing the game vanilla style, which is still very awesome.
I am pretty amateur when it comes to computers, and I did read about half this thread looking for answers but just couldn't find anything.
If anyone has any suggestions, please help me out. If you're willing, being very explicit will really help me out, as I'm a computer newbie. :thumb:

How do I reprocess the lightmaps in Dromed for OMs to be 32-bit ones? Please give me step-by-step instructions (for pretty much Dromed illiterate).
Also, if anyone has done it already, any BEFORE and AFTER screens, please (from any OM)? How big is the performance drop with 32-bit lightmaps vs vanilla ones (with all framerate caps turned off in 1.19)?
thanks!

Yes, the new T2 patch works with Thief Gold. But you need to do a little extra magic. In stead of doing that by hand, there is one utility that does it all for you. It is called TFix. It has been updated with the new fixes from the new T2 1.19 patch.
So this is what you need to do:
1) get a clean Thief Gold install.
2) check out this thread: (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134733)
That's another sticky thread, next to this one we are posting in now.
3) follow the instructions in the TFix thread
4) download the TFix 1.12 (110MB) executable
5) execute the TFix executable
6) check if it works. gl.
I did just this 2 days ago myself, and the patch and the game work like a charm. (Thanks voodoo47!).

No biggie, really, what with 3 boys who play and still love Thief. That's 4 of us in this household that play it so....
And I certainly don't mind having it on Steam where it will follow me everywhere like a voodoo curse.
