Haven't seen anything on this, but can you now run Thief in a native multi-processor environment? Before, you had to tweak Windows to allow it to "see" only one CPU.
There is no problem. I torture Dromed from 2 days (which is more than the regular Thief), I have 4 cores, all 4 is in use and no problems. Now Thief is smoother, dromed is faster than ever.

I agree with Sensut, not only is no longer a problem, but the new Dark Dromed seems to utilize all cores, because mission processing is exponentially faster now. The Drymian Codex took about a half hour to optimize and ObjCast light in 1.18, and now it takes about 3-4 minutes. I'm in love! :o

Hmm I installed fresh from the complete collection disc and then installed the patch run the game (looks sweet) picked up cheese in the room outside the first two guards, went to scroll through my inventory (with mouse wheel) to get to my health potion and it only scrolled between the cheese and the key I picked up to open the door. I used the cheese and could scroll through the lot again. Thought it was weird so I picked up bread in the kitchen area and sure enough scrolling only between the bread and health potion this time.
If I were you I would (in order to try and pinpoint the problem):
- check my user.bnd and check that all keybindings relating to the inventory are okay - and post it here too for others to check it out,
- test also in 1.18 and notice any differences,
- try binding the inventory browsing commands (next_item and prev_item) to something else (e.g. TAB and Shift+TAB) (if you haven't already) and see if the same thing happens,
- open the command console while playing (Ctrl+P or : ) and input the above commands and see what happens.

@bobber:
That's odd. Have you tried right clicking the winrar.exe or winzip.exe and saying run as administrator? Once you've done that, try extracting again. You can also try extracting the thief2.exe to just your root drive and see if it lets you. I'm suggesting that cause I'm curious if it's a directory issue with privileges or if it's some other problem.
@qolelis:
ctrl+P? Never heard of that one... I thought it was shift + ; At least that's what I've used while in dromed game mode.

Wow! Worked like a charm! thank you soooo much. This game just got a million times creepier :D

Now… this might have been said already, but I guess many answers from the Thief Series FAQ will just have to be replaced with "Install the 1.19 patch" :thumb:

Praise the Builder that was it! I right-clicked on Winrar and ran it as administrator and everything went perfect. I can't believe the change in resolution now.
Thanks very much.

Both work: Ctrl+P brings up the command console
and the latest command, while : brings up an empty command console. At least it does so for me.

Hey Fafhrd,
Are you using nvidia 3d vision kit for stereo 3D? I've spent the last couple of days trying to get it to work but have had no success. Is there anything you had to configure to get it working or did it work right off the bat? If anyone has any tips for me I'd surely appreciate it, thanks all!
I was using iZ3D's AMD Checkerboard output to a Samsung 3DTV. Didn't require anything more than turning the driver on.
