Hello everyone,
Id like to get to work on an FM I have been thinking about for a while. I know I will never start if I don't make myself accountable to others for producing the content, so here we are.
Working Title: Lives of the Saints
Environment:
Simple, classical ruins in an urban part of 'The City'.
Next to the ruins is a modern museum integrating parts of the original structure.
Loose Plot:
The demolition of a prominent city landmark reveals an ancient complex in the downtown area of The City.
As a matter of course, a local 'entrepreneur' receives a construction permit the site and builds a museum as a convenient cover.
Employing a team of 'archaeologists', she uses the dig sites to make a profit by selling the rarest and most valuable relics to the collectors, filling the museum with fakes and leftover pieces.
A surge in interest in the ruins has had an interesting and transformative effect on the neighborhood.
The ancient spectacle of the Stylites is revived, attracting tourists who leave offerings for the pedastal saints and their custom at the local taverns.
Garrett, on entrepreneur in his own right, seizes the opportunity to separate religion from status, all in the name of another rent period.

First question: What is the process for porting content from Thief I to Thief II?
I'm guessing it's not as simple as dragging and dropping, and I am interested in both models and textures.

See (
https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131800) the tutorials for how to import custom textures and models to your mission. (Some of those are outdated, and will tell you to put files into your Thief directory; these days you should be using newdark with fmsel so your mission and all its content can live in their own directory instead.)
You can unzip the .crf files from Thief 1 (they're just .zip with a different name) to get the original models and textures you want to use out, and copy them into your mission's directory, into mesh/, fam/ etc. subdirectories, just as you would for custom resources. I'd recommend making sure to change the fam names where necessary to avoid clashing with the stock Thief II fam names.

Didn't you post about this very idea in the thief 2 anniversary thread? I believe I responded and we talked about it, and when you went to draw a map idea you never got back to me :(
Offer still stands, cute idea

Hey!
I absolutely did tease the idea in that thread and then I allowed life to stop me from proceeding. This is me trying to not let that happen as I have considered making an FM a personal goal for a while. /
I am sorry I didn't get back to you, I kept
intending to get back to you and then naturally I intended until it didn't happen. I am making a pinboard at present before I mockup the map, and I will share it here and we can continue our earlier collaboration!
Thank you for the pointers!
