Sadly, I think they're
all puppets...

You do know there's a difference between flipflopping and flexibility, right? and how can you call McCain 'pragmatic'? he's never even heard of the internet. Also, McCain's about as stubborn as they come, minus perhaps JWB Jr.
The "straightalk express", is exactly that and I have a feeling once he's in office and the train has left, there's going to be no catching it. To be blunt, the man's on his deathbed with nothing to lose, he's not even considering a second term! Trying to lead a country in that state of mind sends shivers down my spine.
The straighttalk express left the station long ago with McCain standing in the train station watching it leave.
But this is what most voters are interested in.

Rezko yeah yeah he's no saint whatever, but I do agree that the messianic fervor that runs through some of his supporters--especially the younger crowd--is a little disturbing. There's this bizarre perception that he's just a good guy rising to the call of duty because such is his gift, when the truth is he's achieved his current position of power through shrewd politics and mastery of the game. I do genuinely think he's one of the good guys--something I think of McCain as well, although lately I've been wondering--but that's not the sole reason for his success.
He's a politician, and a damn good one.

Yep, Peanuckle's a riot, isn't he? You can practically hear the drool hitting his keyboard.
"I R REPUBCAN! MCAIN R REPUBCAN! I VOTE MCAIN!"
He must be one of the oxygen thieves who voted Bush Jr. into a second term.
I believe we already had the "Appeal to Ridicule" discussion, thank you very much. Come on, you guys are better than this. If I'm gonna take the time to read a political forum, it would be nice if at least half of the posts in the thread offer some sort of constructive information to the debate.
Personally, I don't mind either Obama or McCain, both have a more balanced outlook on politics than in recent debate and I think that is a good thing. However, when it comes down to it I would for Obama, for 2 reasons: 1) I am actually seriously worried that McCain will choose an extreme right-wing conservative as a running mate, and if he wins, have a heart attack 3-4 weeks after being sworn in. 2)My main concern is environmental conservation issues, and historically, the Democrat party seems to be the one more likely to successfully protect our parks and nature. (*cough* suggested oil drilling in in Alaska by a Republican senator *cough*)

Exactly, none of the big players are..that was precisely my point.
No "saint" could rise to any level of prominence in modern politics due to their very nature.

The flames, they burn!
Anyways, I was leaning more towards Huckabee, then he dropped, then I was all out for Ron Paul, then he dropped, and McCain is a democrat in disguise.
Too bad the voting is all electronic in my state, otherwise I'd write my own name on the margins of the ballot.

Huckabee is the creationist fuckwit who wants to amend the constitution to fit "God's word", right? I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire.
Ron Paul is a comedian.
McCain is no Democrat, in disguise or otherwise; he's classic paleoconservative through and through.
Based on what you've revealed in this thread, I would absolutely suggest that not voting is far and away your best possible course of action.
