On a beer weekend to Poland I saw Auschwitz during an early morning hangover recovery period.
That'd be sweet.

NYC loves me, and I love it back.
After a very painful flight (not turbulence but my not sleeping a wink due to my daughter breaking out in hives and a surprise bout of conjunctivitis out of freaking NOWHERE :() we got situated in our digs and have been having a great time exploring the city.
Finding your way around all the major landmarks is easy to do when you wake up at 4am and are walking the streets before most people have even stopped drinking.
Anyway, freaking amazing place so far. It's kind of uncanny turning a corner and thinking "uhhh is that the Empire State Building". So far probably most impressive was Grand Central Station, which my daughter was also amused by as she did quick shout-outs to test the reverberative qualities of the grand hall.
Luckily my daughter seems to be coming right, so now I get to relax and sightsee and do all that stuff, as well as catch up with RBJ in the not too distant future.

I miss New York :(
Looking forward to going there next year once my one-year-self-enforced-embargo-on-travelling-to-America is over...
Checkout Mustang Sally just off Broadway; spent alot of time there. And Washington Square Park is freaking awesome, theres a great wee Spanish bar just off it where I've spent many a happy afternoon in the sun just chilling.
Oh, and DAMN YOU.
:p

Had quite a lovely afternoon with Family_Scots yesterday. Showed them the finer points of downtown Brooklyn and took a stroll over the bridge.
(Don't think we'll make it to Mustang Sally's - though I've spent many a night there pre-gaming for Knicks/Rangers games.)

If holidays were a checklist mine would be full of ticks so far. I've spent so much time on foot in the past three days that I fear my achilles is permanently buggered.
Anyway, thoroughly enjoyed Brooklyn (with RBJ & co. great times), the Village, Central Park and Washington Square Park, as well as all the usual touristy stuff such as Times Square, Grand Central, and so on.
This evening is Little Italy and Chinatown, followed by Financial District and Battery Park tomorrow then Coney Island hopefully the day after.
Then all fucking hell breaks loose.
