Obviously, I'm around regardless, so either date really works for me (though I had been kinda hoping to hit the Jane's Addiction/NIN show in Jersey on June 6th, I'll skip it if that's the meet-up date).
As for plans to sightsee/drink/eat/etc., I'm happy to be a tour guide, and I'm all ears as far as what people's desires are (I can see this shit anytime, so I'm a pushover bending to the will of the crowd utterly flexible). Consider me your concierge. You tell me what kind of restaurants and bars we're looking for, and what touristy sights you all want to see, and I'll map 'em up for you and let you all know what's logistically feasable. I've got a couple of ideas of places to hit, and I won't go for any budget breakers.
I'm not going to tell you where to stay, but if you pick out hotels, cheap or otherwise, I'm happy to vet them for anyone, just PM me.

the ultra good news is that it's looking 99% likely that the weekend of the 5th-8th June we'll have a sitter for our babby so it'll be 99% party time

Mine did the same thing whenever it ran low on color ink. Fuck, ink cartridges are more expensive than the new printer. I just threw it away and print everything at work now.

On the ink situation, I use FreeInk4Life - I was highly skeptical but I got it on sale and it's saved me tons of money - I've been using the same ink cartridge for the entire school-year.
As for New York...wish I could, but I'll be back home and I kind of hate NYC.

Still seriously considering. May book flight/hotel next week, actually. I'm highly annoyed that the only flights from LAX to JFK are 9pm to 5am red-eyes, though.
