For sure, I think it's safe to say that we'd all love to see a UW remake that looked as good as Arx does (if not better); but I count zero completed and released UW remakes available at present, so I say let's support the hell out of what's there and hope that at least one of them will make it to the finish line...
Do note that the Morrowind game engine brings lots of advantages to the game regardless of the artwork. Full-screen 3D in high-resolution, undistorted viewing in all directions, and a modern control scheme are all pretty high on the list.

Can't disagree with that. I also recall numerous UUW remakes, but this is probably the one most close to release to date.

I think the key for marrying underworld's gameplay with better graphics and architechture is teamwork though. Almost all of the remake attempts so far have been solo efforts.
