I've had the game for a while, but the open-ness of it was a turn off, I couldn't seem to get started because I was running around lost without direction.
I got a strategy guide that at least walks me through the main quest and has maps, etc. It's the Official strategy guide, so no spoilers, which is good for me, too.
The little I did play was cool. Tonight however, was amazing.
I had a spell made, and while I'm sure it's nothing, was just awesome because I didn't know I could do that. I made a 50-100 damage fire effect 30 meter area spell that I naturally named "Frag"
It takes a big chunk of the fight out of the really bad guys, but unfortunately I have to switch to short blade for most of the remainder of the fight, it's a magicka leech.

Hey welcome to the forums!
Hope you have a good time :D
It sounds like you're already having fun, which is the main purpose of the game. On view of you getting lost in the beginning, try being on a island somewhere near Syda Neen with only your iron dagger and a prayer, while viscious mudcrabs start to surround you :( .
For some quests though you will want spoilers. If you trust the directions of NPC's some places could take you weeks to find. If I hadnt stumbled onto it myself I'd still be looking for this woman's farm!

Also, two good places for more info than your strat guide will have, are:
1) (
http://morrowind.ttlg.com) (of course)
and:
2) (
http://www.uesp.net) (extensive walkthrus and, more importantly, an interactive map that will show you where the more out of the way caves, etc. are at)
Luck ;)

Welcome to the land of Morrowind! It's a great land filled with....skooma. I'll be your drinking buddy for the remainder of the trip. As for the boards, I haven't been here in awhile...I won't be any kind of buddy:weird:...
