So far, I am level 7, closed 2 gates. ran the pale pass quest, i am in the fighters guild, went to the arena, talked to the grand champion gray prince, fulfilled his quest, fought all my rounds, not consecutively tho, and won grand champion on level 4 i think, WOW. I thought The Gray Prince was gonna be hard. I also did the quest with the elf that wanted me to spy on 3 people, the quest with the rat problem, the quest with the Everscamp Staff. I joined the mages guild, when I was level 2, well, I figured out what the L2 button is on the controller for PS3...and well, they booted me out 2 minutes after I joined. I picked up and object, and moved it. WTF. Havent gotten my way back in yet. Prolly do that after the Dark Brotherhood quest. 2 guys i work with say NOT to ever sleep in Cheydinhal, or I'll become a vampire. I'm not entirely ready, or I dont think I am, for that just yet. I do have the heavy raiment armor, dwarven shield and longsword, have a frost bow (never used it yet), and the blade of woe from the brotherhood as well as the shrouded armor.
So, I think I am doing decently. Especially when the guys at work told me what it was like to fight the Dark Prince @ level 10 how difficult he was. After his little quest, I didnt think of it..but the fight was funny. Basically suicide. And my name was The Messenger of Death. lol.
i'll post up my spells n other shit later on possibly.

Unmodded Oblivion does this crazy thing whereby all enemies are scaled to your level. This means that the same fight won't necessarily be any easier at level 20 than at level 4. It also means that after a while you'll start seeing bandits with glass, ebony and daedric armour and weapons. It also means that all city guards end up at similar levels to you, which makes you wonder why they need a hero when they've got tens of guards who are just as good.
Oblivion's a great game but it's not without flaws.

just advanced to level 9, am a member of the theives guild now.
I dont mind thte enemies leveling with me. It keeps me on my toes so that i know there's certain ways to beat certain enemies easier than others. If they were all at level 1, I'd prolly not learn the difft ways. Then again...i love old fashioned melee.

well, it is quite a challenge to try and fight a creature a few levels higher than you and at times you need just that (even most of the time I'd say:p ) and Vanilla Oblivion doesn't allow this, sadly. To me, it always seemed that I didn't need all the given spells and powers (I was a mage) for I could use a few of them and they were rarely even resisted. Its like a player was given powers to fight higher level monsters but not the chance to do that^^

right now my biggest problem is i need to be able to open hard and very hard locks, lol

At least in this game you don't have to be a particular class to do it :(

There's a knack to picking locks, once you learn it, the security skill is pretty much useless.

Well, I no longer have all the UNenchanted weapons. Maybe a couple Glass things here and there, but thats it. I been enchanting like crazy. I got all the Umbra loot, including that bad ass sword. The armor, I got each piece enchanted with 100pt feather. WOOT!
The helmet I did a night-eye on it.
