I take it you never tried the garridan's tears quest then.

Funny you should mention that ... ;)

Just forget it man, get out while you still can. It's the most horrifically frustrating quest ever conceived and pays a few measly gold pieces.

I didn't have any trouble with it. I walked in, killed some trolls,
got to the weird zone with a the KILLER ICE and picked them up two and three at a time, running out to regen.
Poof! I was done.
Another problem with asking; people are conditioned to think this or that quest is hard, so thats what they expect and thats what they get. Garridan's Tears was nothing for me, and I came at it blind, deaf, and dumb.

Oh no, don't remind me that! I couldn't find the last one even through using wireframe :p Thank to God I had Matthew help me with that one - he used my saved game to search for one and sent it back to me after everything was done That's a worst embarrassment in my game experience.:)

edit:
What I mean is, as piano-sam said, often quests are not as hard as we think of them. I know many people though who read walkthroughs before each and every quest, just to make sure they will waste no time on mistakes. This is domething that completely takes away the challenge from the game imo. A case where you tried everything and came up with no result is that fair exception that should be made I guess :)

It would be easy I guess if I didn't do what uespwiki told players not to :)
I guess fireball was always one of my favourite spells. Oh well...

Fireball f t w. I have no idea why you shouldn't use it. I did. Fireballed some trolls; tenderizer before I come in with the meat cleaver.

By using it in the grove, she blasted one of the Tears into a tricky to find position.

The problem with the garridan's tears quest isn't that it's hard, just that it can be the most frustrating quest in the game since the tears are so easy to knock about and lose track of. If you run into the frozen pool without looking, you can easily kick the tears around without noticing it and then spend ages looking for them, stray fireballs are even worse. I must've spent over an hour looking for those damn tears and using a map of their locations, only to be rewarded with 2000 measly gold pieces. I would've killed that khajitt if he weren't a member of the guild.
