I ran into a bug: the "art so common it's only worth 1 coin" objective uncompletes the loot objective if you did that first.
Just to clarify, so I can test:
You had 7000 loot (or whatever you needed per difficulty option), and the loot objective was complete.
Then, you found the piece of art, and it removed the completed objective check?
Actually, I was able to figure it out. I had the same issue in reverse when originally testing. It only worked if you stole the item first. My original thought was to have it as loot but that really hosed how objectives work so I removed the isloot property which got it working if it wasn't the first item you took, but now have removed all loot fields, making it a traditional item again, and it seems to work. I updated the original link, so it should automatically download the latest version. Thanks for pointing that out!

"light leaks" might not be the correct term, but I used it to describe whenever a light source was able to shine through what would be a solid wall because of seams in the engine. the mansion hallway has a lot of light leaks around the trapezoid columns the torches are set into. I wouldn't expect the light to spread onto the walls unless there were slits in the column cubbies.
please don't get discouraged, this is quite stunning especially for a first mission! it is a shame that so many resources are fading away as the internet gets worse; I hope your additional research makes the next one easier
Thank you for this! I had noticed what you mention now, but assumed it was an incorrectable error. Everything I had read mentioned geometry, and all the pieces involved were fully snapped to the grid. Turns out it was the torches from cloning. Somehow, I managed to hose the torch archetype, and so after looking more closely, all of the torches were wrong in one way or another. Extinguishing them left the yellow particle remnant, for example. I just didn't realize that because I typically leave the torches lit when I play.
I think this should all be fixed now, thanks to helpful feedback like yours!

Hucklebarry, you have been made the author of this thread now so feel free to edit the original post suitably if you wish. This was done at Renault's request so you were the thread owner.

Thanks to you both, I wasn't sure if the account issue was long-term or not.

I had fun exploring this mission not a great first mission but a solid one.
Thanks and keep making them!

A nice fun mission. Plenty of interest here. Only slight disappointment was, when I read the note that ticked off the objective 'find out what is going on', I was expecting something or someone to come after me!
Only thing I had trouble was with slashing the banner by the canal. Had to slash-jump to do it.
I shall revisit when someone does a loot list.
Great job Hucklebarry! :thumb:
BTW, were the laundry boxes of any significance?

No, didn't have cause to red the thread. Unusual for a loot list so quickly!
Thank you.

For the banner, I was thinking a lean-swipe would work, but then I remembered when testing that you can't do that, he just straightens up and swipes regularly, but to my surprise, it still cut the banner. So every time I tested it, I just stood next to the banner as close to the edge as I could get but facing the banner, and then swing... and it would cut it.
For the laundry, my thinking (which I admit was not executed as well as I was originally planning), the point was to convey that the people in that mansion weren't a proper people living in the mansion. It was meant to tie in with the note in the library about filling the shelves with books, and the lockbox in the game room that needed cleaning. The whole mansion was a front for something which involved Garret, who had given up plot twists for good, but had no idea this town was luring in criminals to feed to their master.
One of the things I noticed in some comments and reviews is that people don't typically read, especially long notes, and then complain that there is no story (not you). That doesn't offend me because I realize I do the very same thing when playing  I'm slowly working on a Thief 2 level, and my goal is to go the conversation route (and with some internal monologue) rather than rely on so many readables. Hopefully, if done well, it will provide a little more enjoyment in learning what is going on.

I think readables work best when they're natural.
It's ones that are random thoughts that point to some hidden item or crime that I see as being a bit jarring. Even though I'm playing a game, I don't expect to see someone writing a confession for others to find.
Letters to others work, journals / diaries work. Hidden notes work, too.
But that's just my opinion, others may disagree.
I mostly enjoyed this mission and I'm always impressed when a new one is created. I didn't enjoy the loot hunt. I only played on hard but struggled to get much over 5000. My preference, though, so well done to Hucklebarry for a good first mission.
