Fun mission! Really enjoyed it and found premise and architecture and interiors quite fancy!
Also really liked some of the ways to get inside the houses! Also liked that most of the patrols didn't force you to wait for them to pass for too long - really wish most missions didn't force you into long waiting.
For level design improvements I would suggest adding some safe zones to place where you climb a balcony in the Manor. It seems too light and too open so you can't really improvise to stay hidden if you find yourself in an unlucky timing.
Also one small caveat I found was a window near beginning in which it was hard to climb into.
Maybe my mistake, but in addition I wanted to mention that I think you should look into how other games/levels show that door can't be opened with certain textures or additional objects like locks and so on. I thought some of them are intractable and wasted a bit of time approaching them and trying to open them.
Overall the mission is quite good! Hope to play more stuff from you in the future!
P.S. Ran in an older version since I couldn't play a new one and thief didn't seem to update well to new 1.28 so I had to revert.

If that small window Nick_UI is talking about is the one that is partly behind a hedge and leads to a small room with some loot, but nothing else, I too had issues with that one on v1,1 I would always get caught in mid head-bob and became too large to fit through. It took about 20 tries to finally get in. Getting out was no issue. The problem did not occur with v1.2

I just started playing this mission tonight, and for some reason I can't open any doors. The doors work fine in other missions, but won't open in this one. I've tried Thief as well as Dromed with the same results.

Just started this mission.
I can't open the door to get out of the Inn.
After I unlock it with the key (or lock it? not sure) it still gets highlighted, but nothing happens.
Can't open to get out.
Any ideas?

If you are still using NewDark v1.27, the door in the first room won't open. Download v1.1 of the mission to play it with the older version of NewDark. Unfortunately, the mission info file does not mention this in v1.2 and v1.2.1 of the mission, so one can easily miss this information.

Probably, I'll sound stupid, but... I'm using the NewDarkLoader 1.7.0 for loading these FMs.
I guess, that's not the same the NewDark 1.28 you mentioned, right?

No. NewDarkLoader is a FM loader, a program used to play a fan mission. NewDark is an enhanced and (partially) bugfixed version of the original game.
For "Thief: The Dark Project" and "Thief Gold", TFix was used as a patcher program in recent years. Among other things, it took care of updating the game to the current NewDark version. TFix has to be downloaded and started in order to update, it does not work like Windows Update, which automatically checks the internet for the newest Windows version. By the way, T2Fix is almost the same for "Thief II: The Metal Age". Click (

However, TFix currently installs only NewDark v1.27, not v1.28 yet. It is not clear when TFix might be updated so that it may update Thief to NewDark v1.28. Currently, you either have to install NewDark v1.28 manually, or you can use (

And, as mentioned, you can always use EasyLiving v1.1 with NewDark v1.27 if you don't want to switch to NewDark v1.28 yet.
