after upgrading your thief install to a new engine you _CANNOT_ trust reloading a save made in the old version - it just won't work. >New mission - start fresh.

I would like to try this fm but I am not willing to mess with my perfectly good installation of the official 1.27 new dark version, over a non official 1.28. Especially when 1.28 installation claims that it will change permanently my files.

I got a d3dx9 error when I tried Roguepatcher and no T1/G FM or OMs would work. (it was looking for d3dx9_30.dll when all I had was a d3dx9_43.dll)
Forturnately, I was able to reinstall 1.27 and it works again. I'll just wait until later this year for the tfix 1.28

Congrats on your mission, but not for me this one, I'm afraid, though I gave it a go.
Don't like pitch black - I find it too frustrating getting stuck on the walls all the time, usually at critical moments!

Roguepatcher is in no way any less official than Tfix, neither author has anything to do with the actual version of NewDark, they are simply different methods to install NewDark (which you can also do manually).
@PaganZombie The boots Can be pushed in any direction... but they will lead you to treasures in only one direction
spoiler: you'll naturally find the boots when you're facing east. keep pushing them east until you reach the end of the passage. You'll find something

i am disappointed that rougepatcher gave my icon a thief 2 look when it should be the thief 1/gold logo
but it seems the number was updated and install was pretty easy
will try the next 1.28 fan mission to see all is working ok, or replay this mission on expert and skip the hardest setting

About to give up. How do I get in the shed? Have the key, unlocked the door, but it does not open?
Good creepy mission, but not having a means to navigate is frustrating. I am wandering in circles a lot.
