Yes the loot here can be harder to spot since we are all used to recognize the thief loot models , while here in this mission an ordinary object can be loot, the readme file mentions that is recommended to check the objects closely as there's chance they are worth to loot.
Bjack , i didn't do much settings to those ai creature, just made their eyesight more accurate, and made them patrol their private areas, nothing else. since the map is big you can make them easily loose your track .

Oh good! Yandros tempted me back to playing with DCE. I'm glad to see you are still making missions. This is next on my to-play list.

Hi Gretchen, its good to know you´re still around here :thumb:, I hope this will be an enjoyable experience for you, although i must say this production runs away from the Thief style game/world.

That's OK by me! You've done it before; Playground of Doom comes to mind. Exploring your art museum (A Time for Culture, IIRC) is one of my favorites. I've always enjoyed your missions. I look forward to these.

Okay, I gave this mission a try :)
While it's not my type of mission, I was amazed of how much effort has been put to create it. The mission is truly magnificent, and shows how NewDark can handle large terrain objects. My computer isn't that cutting-edge (Pentium G4600 2017 model + 8GB DDR4 RAM + Radeon 1GB videocard), it wasn't as laggy as reported. The gameplay on my computer is largely smooth.
I admit, I prefer classic Thief missions - mansions, cathedrals, dungeons with zombies. However, I don't mind if other types of mods (and yes, I dare say that we should call these missions mods) are in production.

Thanks Bulgarian Taffer, yes this is more like a personnel project, i mean not excatly with the FTM situation but with the fact that i lived among these realities and with the scenarios from my home country and its atmospheres. This is not a reflection of what represents the thief Universe therefore the small recognition from the Thief fans in this project . This happens to be a realistic drama, and i don't agreed when like someone said this tells nothing but mundane events, and i don't agree, because it's not everyday that someone gets aid, it's not everyday that we get to loose a parent, or it's not everyday that we get divorced...these are not daily things, not something we can say its part of a rotine therefore not a mundane thing. The story here searches to be dramatic and documentary at the same time, and not a X-men action movie. I use dromed as a personal preference, as its format is ideal for me to express and tell my stories, but some players only tried to judge it in its expression as Game and not absorb it as a artistic/documentary work . One player even said that these missions look like a store asset, and this is the kind of comment coming from a mind formatted by commercial games , where players are used to see objects cloned and things we get to see only in games, and here i tried to be as realistic as possible, so i use as many different object as possible to be loyal on depicting real life, and still reality has much more that this production shows, what i mean is, the same way artists are free to use formats like films, photography, books, paintings etc... there should also be the freedom to use the videogames/3d editors with as much flexibility as possible and free from rules that dictate what you must and must not do in a 3d editor format. You're not going to watch a movie and then make a comment like:" this movie looks like a asset store because it has to many objects." 3d editors are to be used freely like any other format.

I have played this FM four or five times now and I still enjoy it, not because of its story in the first place, but because of the atmosphere. Really good work. :D It must have taken you ages to build this.
What I enjoyed most about this mission pack is the "summer in Porto" setting. It was really fun exploring the houses, the gardens, the streets and the side streets. There is a lot to discover, as you have put a lot of love for detail in it, and the houses turn out to be an amazingly well-made replica when compared to the original houses on Google Street View.
The music works fine too. It's not the kind of music that I usually listen to, but it fits very well into the whole setting. :) I sometimes cut out the music file from the first mission and listen to the complete An Hour Brighter album instead while exploring Senhora da Hora.
The loot hunt is quite challenging. A bit too challenging for me, I must admit. Even after playing this a few times, I'm always short of a few hundred in loot. So, thanks for providing us with the walkthrough videos, they were (and still are) very helpful. :thumb:
The story is okay, quite unique, something very different from the classical Thief, I just don't count it to my favourite storylines (that's just my personal taste though). There's only a few things I was wondering about:
- The girl robs her whole neighbourhood in broad daylight (that's alarming criminal tendencies for a girl of that young age ). How does she get away with it seemingly completely unnoticed and unsuspected?
- Wouldn't the mother ask questions where her daughter suddenly has all the money for T-letter and surgery from?
- How does the girl sleep at night, knowing she afforded her new body by stealing from her neighbours? :joke:
Nevertheless, all points of "critisism" that I have about this mission are what I'd call first world problems. Overall this is an amazing mission pack that I very much enjoyed playing even more than once.
The biggest strength of this mission in my opinion is definitely the atmosphere and I was pleased to read that you are planning to do more Porto themed missions in the future.
And actually you have made me curious about the "real" Porto which I hope to be able to visit sometime soon. :)
A few side notes:
- I liked the idea with the Monster Energy cans that function as healing potions. :cheeky:
- The woman in Rue das Andorinhas 56 must be very generous, giving me her iPad for retrieving her dead cat. :wot:
- Why is a small digital camera worth 150 and a DSLR camera with mounted lens only 100?
- I'd like to know what the angry estate owners shout when chasing after me. :cheeky: Maybe I should learn some Portuguese.
- Anyone else noticed the car coming out of the tunnel when collecting the android figure on the roof? :D
- What is the girl's actual name? According to her journal entries her name must be Carla, but the woman that needs the Tasigna pills calls her the "daughter of Carla".

Wow, you´ve played this mission more times than me . Yes this mission was the one that took me more time to build, 2 years , around 2 and 3 hours a day, in the last 6 months around 3 and 4 hour. Having all places well detailed to look realistic takes a alot of work, but i did it because i had so many feelings regarding these kind of scenarios, living now in France i feel less connect tho that world, but when i´m in Senhora da Hora during holidays i have again this feeling of doing melancholy scenarios, i get to let myself wonder in the streets for hours. i will eventually do again this type of missions. There are other histories i want to share.
I´m doing a big update of this mission concerning the game performance, i´m trying to make textures less heavy without losing too much quality, and see what else i can do to avoid the lags in some areas.
The main character is not a girl, i mean yes physically she was born as a girl, but her brain is male.
Yes its a bit absurd to a have a teenager character to steal all those houses, but there's got to be a mobile to have an interesting gameplay that allows you to explore almost everything. In real life he would have been caught in the act, or later arrest by the police, specially a neighbor which is more easy to identify. But here let's pretend she's a kind of master thief. And if his mother ask him where he got all that money he can always says he found a work or give her other excuses.
Yes an ipad for as a reward to find a cat is too much, let's assume the old lady doesn't give much use to it.
the cameras values i did it in a random way, but don't forget that for both models you have all kind of prices, even small digital cameras can go up to high prices. like a Sony for example.
Those voices that you hear from the male characters that chase you are my voice, they say funny things when being unaware of your presence, and they say strong words when they see you. The idea is also to make the illusion to players that they are hearing always new things, during the game as this language is unfamiliar , because if they were in English players would notice quickly the repetition of the voices
"What is the girl's actual name? According to her journal entries her name must be Carla, but the woman that needs the Tasigna pills calls her the "daughter of Carla"." - that's my fault, i´m glad you found this error and i will correct it for the next update.
Thank you so much for your kind words, and your remarks. Good idea i will play this mission while listening to the album "An hour brighter" by Ten and Tracer.
My next mission is something different , more thief style, with french voices, some good deep house music and french medieval nocturne atmospheres. with two parts...coming soon...

That's a good idea, I also had problems with lags in certain areas, but my computer is almost ten years old now. :D

I agree. :) And whenever I play it, I just don't concentrate too much on the story or how it can be possible at all. The first time I played it it just felt like being on a holiday trip in a country I've never been to before and exploring everything I can. And that's what kept my attention in the first place.

Or maybe she had stolen it herself and gives it away now to get rid of evidence. :joke:

That is true. I just found 100 for a DSLR camera to be very low price. :) But I don't even consider that as a flaw, just a very minor thing that I happened to notice. It might as well be a very old camera with plenty traces of usage.

If they spoke English, it would actually reduce the feeling of being in a foreign country, so it is best to have them speaking Portuguese. :) I was just wondering what the words are.

It may as well be no error at all. :) Some parents like to name their children after themselves.

Good idea i will play this mission while listening to the album "An hour brighter" by Ten and Tracer.
I have purchased the two albums An Hour Brighter and April Kids (as the tracks Cine Fil and Jessica Six are my favourites). An Hour Brighter works well in the first mission's atmosphere.
Cardia on 15/2/2019 at 13:20
Cine Fil and Jessica Six were both used in FTM life :D
Yes i also have bought those two albums some years ago, i remember buying "an hour brighter" for 30 euros via amazon, and i've never received the album, but later i bought it for 25 euros also via amazon via a trusted seller and finally i got it. I also bought "April Kids" via discogs, it was my first CDr purchase, and i was disappointed because i thought i had been fooled by the seller when in fact this album was released only in cdr format (also in digital format). Music is one of my biggest passions and its where i spend most of my money.
If you like those albums you should also check these two by Ten and tracer:

I have bought alot of Ten and tracer discography , i don't enjoy all but he has alot of good singles, compilations and EPs:

Ihave used some of his music in other missions like "Ana secret" which was updated in 2017 and "Umbelina".
