Because I was busy with other things over the holidays, I only got around to playing today.

All the best for you and your families:thumb:.
Thank you very much for your post, we were quite moved reading it! We are thrilled that you enjoyed the mission so much and we were excited to read of all the many things you noticed and enjoyed. We were particularly moved by your last comment about maintaining our Christmas traditions because this is something we also feel strongly about as well.
As for the three out of four wishes you were able to grant, here is a list of the locations of the four items for the stockings:
1. A flute on a chair on the second floor of the church.
2. A hand mirror on a table on the second floor of the jewelry store.
3. A diary in the bookstore.
4. A dewdrop doll in an upstairs room in the building to the south of the city watch guard quarters. You can reach this room through a window with shutters. The widow's stockings constitute one of the four secrets in the mission. If you get all four secrets, the ice garden will become open to you. You can find a list of the secrets in (

I've played a few other Christmas-themed FMs.. but I have to say this is the best I've seen to date... well done Taffer...

Tanner and team, thank you for this mission. I played it in small segments across the 12 Days of Christmas, finishing just now. (My granddaughters enjoyed watching me enter the garden.) The music was a real treat. I especially liked the versions of "In the bleak midwinter" you included as it captures the poignancy of the places where included. I have a feeling--call it a hunch--that next Christmas I'll return to this small town nestled in the land of Thief, not so much to play the mission again but to look around, to enjoy the sights and sounds, and just to see how everyone is doing.

@Gloria , @Eiji & @glwhalen, thank you for your thoughts and glad you enjoyed our mission! @glwhalen, very perceptive catching that song. Before there was ever a Christmas mission we had this very song in mind as a matter of fact, and was a main inspiration throughout. Truly beautiful music. This version I find particularly moving: (

I just wanted to add, you guys are fantastic in your story telling. Dare I say, and don't chastise me, this FM has a womans touch. Reminded me of Lady R in many ways. The attention to detail, and the stories. It's extremely rare to have an FM that has touched so many people the way this FM did. We can like an FM, hate an FM, be scared, but this one touched so many on a personal level, it sparked memories and feelings, which is very hard to do. You both knocked it out of the park, and I do hope you'll continue to work together on more FM's in the future, thank you for the gift to the community.

Thank you so much BrokenArts! And of course we wouldn't chastise you lol - that's a great thing to say, and because we are also fans of Lady Ro among others, it can only be a compliment to us! We too are surprised by how our mission seems to have touched so many people - we are moved and grateful when we get to read thoughts like you have posted here, so thanks again for that.
To answer your other question, we are currently working on another mission together which is in the planning stages. We'd love to have it released this year, but might be too optimistic to say that.. could be 2026, we'll see. In addition, we each have missions we are doing on our own at the same time! Lots to do.
Take care and sending blessings your way for the New Year!

I just finished playing the mission and I must say, I've never been touched by a Thief FM as this one. It brought me to tears several times, especially the end, when the book reading ended and also the beautiful different Christmas music. What a beautiful Christmas story to tell. The joy I felt playing it and discovering all the goodies and beautiful signs and posters and the hilarious stuff to find, I truly have no words to express how much I enjoyed playing this mission! This will surely be an again and again playing mission, especially around this time of the year. I just want to say: THANK YOU ALL who participated in making this FM. You're the best!!! :thumb:
Thanks Taffers!

P.S. Is there a way into the Ice garden?

Thank you Pukey and
Tannar.
I agree with everything that's been said. So many nice touches and high quality. Like others I was teary-eyed and think the atmosphere quietly softens us up. Then stumbling across the unexpected, I was caught off-guard by memories and interpretations. Powerful stuff.
It escaped me that there's no loot goal and yes I did feel pangs of guilt but still went ahead stealing. Even with the published lootlist I'm 65 short of max and as I've been going round in circles for days I'll have to wait for a Let's Play all-loot video. (Update: Now available (
https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=152821&page=9&p=2523117&viewfull=1#post2523117) here).
I failed miserably to spot connections/jokes which I now understand are there and although I recognised
Tiptoe through the Tulips I didn't connect with
Tiny Tim, the singer, instead thinking of Dickens.
Nevertheless I got hit by things lurking in my subconscious and something that stopped me dead in my tracks was reading Liesl's note saying "
Matches for sale".
Of course I had to read every poster, including at the apothecary. Very educational. :joke:
Seeing Masons Wine Essence priced as
1/- and 2/- was a throwback to childhood, when currency in the UK was shillings and pence, and prices such as
1 shilling and
2 shilling were common-place, and designated as
1/- and 2/- ....
Trivia:
I didn't notice
"AI scared of rats" but the lady in the cells who was ill, after I'd taken the purse, had disappeared by subsequent visits.
Strangely a civilian appeared on the roof above the Jewellery and TickTock shops (after I'd been there earlier). It took me ages to realise where the whistling was coming from. HaHa!
Early on there's a couple talking outside the police station - but each time I revisit that area, the lady is displaced a short distance along the path to the North. Currently she's beyond the window of the singing woman, and at the bottom of the steps. The chap remains outside the police station and both continue to gesture in conversation, although now about a hundred metres apart.
I didn't pay as much attention as I should have to the fruitcake situation but with the crack of doom closed over I still have 2 fruitcakes left over.
I replayed the police station to see the reaction of the City Watch after delivery and I foolishly imagined those on patrol would join the party if I lured them inside but they were made of stronger stuff and chased me all over the Police Station. HaHa!
...
I agree that the different versions of
In the Bleak Widwinter, inside and outside Mary's house are so well set, and I love the videos and all the poems. Who read those? Great job! Amazing that you did this in such a short time. As with Scarlet Cascabel you make a wonderful team.
Thank you both again. :thumb::thumb::thumb:
