The series is popular enough here that we have not one, not two, but THREE threads, on the front page alone.
I think by creating a new subforum we enable people who might otherwise be put off by GenGaming (lol) to wander in and post questions/their own impressions of the games/whatever. The series is certainly of a certain pedigree that should appeal to all but the most maximum of autists, and is in the grand tradition of old-school white people RPGs.

You literally can't help yourself, can you.

Great series, but not very LGS-like, now is it.

Neither is Stalker, Elder Scrolls and Fallout. And I'd argue that DSouls is more LGS-like than any of those. Not that you'd know.

You'd be wrong.

Well if you're so fucking smart why don't you explain to the class what the difference is?
Renault on 25/4/2014 at 20:46
Why, it's fairly obvious.

That you're a dipshit? Yeah, that's plain to everyone, but why don't you actually answer the question instead of shitting in my honest thread?

Well, granted, I haven't played much Dark Souls, but the obvious part to me is that's it's not an immersive sim. The most glaring feature missing is the lack of first person perspective, which all the other games you mentioned have, as do the most well-known LGS games and their offspring, like Deus Ex and Bioshock.
Again, don't get me wrong, I've heard all good things about DS and absolutely plan to play through all the games at some point. But they don't strike me as games that are trying to simulate a realistic and immersive gameworld. Or, am I wrong there?
I'm sure you'll tell me if I am.
