she can do another great FM. ;)
Quoted for Trueth.
I just wanted to assure her that while she CAN, and it would be nice to have one soon, she should just ignore the hordes of rabidfans till she gets done at whatever her working pace is.

Good point, but it can be fun to read posts by your fans, it could motivate her to try to do even better. (if it is even possible to do a better mission)
:D

While possible improvement comes at its own rate and while fan praise can be great for inspiration and moral support it can also cause stress because your'e constaintly afraid that your next offering is going to fall short of expectations(combine that fear with the usual feeling that your particular creations arn't meeting personal standards).

Polaris looks great - looks like a proper "outdoor" kind of thing, which is new ('cept that little bit on Ponterbee which reminded me of the colony in Aliens when the Marines land).
Looking forward to it - maybe PC Gamer UK (Brem X Jones - where are ya man!) can hype up SS2 again. Lets face it, Shodan should be on the cover of every issue anyway.... :-p

Wow, I can't believe it! I thought you wouldn't be working on another SS2 FM so soon. This is great news! :cheeky:
Those outdoor shots look fantastic. And is that some kind of Yeti I see in a couple of the screenshots?

I don't rush it anyway. ;)
If ZylonBane might have some time to make some new textures for the UNN Nightwalker, I would prefer to make an update for it first.
Else there's no real need for an update yet...
@ redrain85 - that's some kind of Ice beast, I haven't a name for it yet :cheeky:

Probably a dumb question but when creating new creatures are you limited to the number of AI models from shock2 or can you have more than what was present there? Not sure how to clarify the question so if you don't understand, its alright.
And after looking at those screenshots.
O.O

I'm limited to the motions and joints of in SS2 existing AI's.
The IceBeast are the Demons from Dark Arrow with changed texture. They were built for Thief II and use the motions and joints of the treebeasts in Thief II. The treebeasts from Thief II have the same joints and use the same motions like the rumblers. So I have no problems to use them in SS2 :)
Do you rember the saurians from Ponterbee? They were made by schwaa for Thief II and uses the Tricksters motions, there are no creature type like this in SS2 and it crashes :p Shadowspan rebuilt them for Ponterbee Station, they are using now the Hybrids motions.
William Dojinn on 13/10/2006 at 15:11
Ahh, so as long as one were to keep their creatures limited to the avalible motions/joints within shock2 you could have as many as you like?
Christine on 13/10/2006 at 15:25
As long as I don't reach one of the other DarkEngine limits, like the texture palette limit or the object limit... ;)
