If you find you do need help with voice acting for a follow-up Christine, sign me up. :)
I just recently re-installed SS2 again, and decided to play the various FMs that have been released (never played any). And lo and behold, I discover there's another brand new FM. :D
After I finished playing through Ponterbee Station, I thought . . . my god, what an amazing FM it was. It was like playing a professional expansion. I loved it. What's most incredible about it, is how HUGE it is. I mean it's really, really long! And it only took 11 months to create it? Wow.
The only little things I noticed, that don't seem to have been mentioned yet are: 1) The text of the logs didn't always match the speech. 2) In the room on the Hydroponics level where the
body is hanging, and the annelids smash through the glass, there are some cyber modules behind it that are extremely difficult to pick up. It's like the glass is still there, even though it's been smashed through.
After many attempts to pass by - jumping and crouching like a madman - I finally was able to pass through and pick them up. And I was a little disappointed that
Tommy, Rebecca, and Shodan were not referred to or used very much.
But honestly, these are minor things and I feel guilty for even bringing them up. This FM is a masterpiece.

@ Sweet Vampire:
Well, if you call it 'speaking english' what I do ;)
I learned english in school (started when I was 12) but I improved my english skills a little bit year by year by translating this and that, reading english books, watching english movies (horror-films, yes - it was the puberty - but at least I know how to scream in all english variations :cheeky: ).
@ To all potential voice-actors/-actresses:
Thanks for all your entries...
I've put you all on my list. I think whenever the sequel will be finished Christine will 'commission' me again to care for all the voice-files. Then I'm going to contact you... :D

Did you forget me? I volunteered to help with the sequel (since I got tied up too much for the original) in one of the e-mails I sent you. The offer still stands, and I promise I'll actually be able to help this time.

I'm honestly impressed with the strength of this Community. Even after all those years, there are still new Fan-Made Additions coming out.
I don't know any other Game with such a long living Fan Community.

Well, SS1 and SS2 are those special games that you never forget. And how - what would now be considered old and outdated games by many - actually still beat the living snot out of most newer games. SS1 and SS2 are on a short list of my all-time favorites, in the "FPS" category. (I know I'll get lynched for saying that. But they ARE FPS/RPG hybrids, are they not?)
The others being Deus Ex (but not the lousy sequel), No One Lives Forever (the first one, the sequel was okay but not as good), and TRON 2.0. (Don't look at me like that, for those last two! :p)
So it's easy to see why System Shock still has such a strong following, even after all these years. They don't make games like these, any more.
Of course, the dedication and spirit of System Shock's fans have a lot to do with it too. ;)

IIRC, SS2 is an FPS/RPG because of the character building you can do through upgrades, but SS1 is only an FPS because it has no such system.

Not only that, but their fanbase is much more active, probably due to at least two reasons:
1. Developing an FM plot for Thief is easier.
2. DromED 2 is a little less cranky than ShockED.

JediKnight. Yes, they are still (

Wow, that's right. (How could I forget about Jedi Knight? Another one of my all-time favorites, along with its follow-up: Mysteries of the Sith. Outcast and Academy . . . you guessed it! They sucked. :ebil:)
Those guys have been at it since about 1998, I think. They've done some excellent work. But they're lucky they CAN even make any missions, thanks to the dedication of some coders who made the necessary editing tools. LucasArts didn't provide any, and back then they weren't mod friendly like they are now. (Most of you probably know this, though.)
