first thing I do when I start a game is trying to play a level with and without music. most of the time I end up turning music off completely. case: battlemusic in STALKER and FarCry2........nothing more annoying than battle music.......DragonAge is guilty as well, ruined some perfectly staged emotional battles for me where no music or just a continuation of the theme during the pre-fight dialogue sequence would have had much more impact. well, can't have anything and I'd say ambience is a very good mood-enhancer therefore perfectly valid as a game soundtrack. original, licensed music is hard to find (and that fits). Mafia's soundtrack is the awesome !

I´m playing "Risen" at the moment, and there´s no music for battles, it is much better this way.
