Well there's certainly nothing "wrong" with it looking cartoonish but i just expect 3d worlds to look photo-realistic these day. Maybe they're just trying to keep the same look that the original had though, i just don't find it particularly nice to look at.

The prices on some things aren't the cheapest, but a lot of it is decent branded stff, and not the 'cheapest thing there'. I already had the monitor (17"), and keyboard/mouse. Oh, and it didn't take long to put together and get working, a few hours maybe.
