I just want to start that great game, but have some questions pior.
Created a new race - one that fits my style more.
Spell = INT x 8, :thumb: but
Weakness Normal = 50 %
Weakness REST = 20 %
Is this ok ? In the beginning its hard, but how later. Dont want it overpowered, just plain magic.
Is it possible to restrict armor ? E.g. no more than light.
When opening a book, one can gain advancement. BUT is it also possible to get a spell scribed into the "magic list" I mean so that it is just as if i bought that spell. I want to write a quest where a mage can find some "ancient" books where he can learn phantastic spells.
The race is a "dark elf", but the ancient ones. I called it DUNMER, but as i looked at some posts i get the feeling that that might be wrong. Should Chimer be better ?

Remember to make a script for each spell you want the player to learn that way. You can even make it so that you won't get the spell from a book unless you already have read another book, have a specific spell or item or an attribute at a certain level.

Well, "Chimer" was indeed the name of the race before the whole "Vivec & crew becoming gods" escapade; they were also of a lighter skin tone, though I don't believe I've seen anything that said if that meant white, pink, purple, yellow, etc. (you get the idea).
Something to keep in mind, btw, is that Azura did the changing; unless you have some back-story in mind that'd explain why your race's members were somehow hidden from someone as powerful and omniscient as Azura, you may want to make them dark-skinned. Making them shorter or taller than 'average' Dunmer would be realistic btw, as they're throwbacks to a bygone era. (Or, one idea, one lone Dwarf exists because he was in an Outer realm when his race disappeared... it's a good chance that Azura's powers couldn't reach that far either, and your race's ancestors were exploring)
(And could you spell out what you mean by 'restrictions on wearing'? Do you mean racial restrictions, or what?)

Restriction on wearing:
Well its simple what it says. :cheeky:
In Daggerfall, one could set the advantages/disadvantages by oneself. And beside "cast only in light", "regen in dark" and so on, there was also "cant wear adamantium/dwarfen/orics....."
So to make sure my charakter is phantastic in magic, but otherwise really weak (if out of magic -> help, there is a rat), he sould not be capable to wear any armor. Or at least perhaps nothing but leather.
Mhh, hope that strighten out some things.
One more:
Do you think this race will be overpowered to soon? (at some level ANY startingrace will for sure be to strong)
