Haha, if I had known going into the recording that it was going to be uploaded after the voting ended, I would had just revealed to you guys (and listeners) that I was the author of Recipe for Turmoil, instead of pretending to give it a review based on notes from a friend of mine who played it :joke: ! I know Brethren was having a good laugh while I was talking about it.
Oh well, I still think the discussion of it was valid and the episode was really enjoyable.

Thanks a lot for the new episode!
I honestly enjoyed your discussion of my mission since you couldn't have been more on the money with your guesses.
I started working on this mission just 1 month before the deadline and couldn't get much done due to this stupid lockdown.
Like most people, I had to shift my working hours to the evening since I had to entertain the toddlers during the day and that didn't leave that much free time...
However, I was most pleased to hear that I've succeeded in achieving my main goal when building a mission: creating something that stays true to the OMs and is still fun to play.

thanks for your honest reply, and as we said, it was really fun to play. Sometimes you can achieve more with less. I think I remember more sections in my head from your mission than from some of the contenders. I'm always very impressed how you guys get job, family done and also find time to create such gems. Thank you for your contribution to contest and I'm also glad that we treated your entry fair and could see the core of it. Your circumstances make it even more enjoyable :)

I was interested in the (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng4705MW0Sk&t=3h2m45s) discussion about the rating system for the competition and can see both sides of the argument. Do I want to look at a mission objectively or do I want to mark it by how much fun I had? Personally after rating the entries by their categories I was unhappy with their order by total score so I re-scored all of them by new totals and retrospectively split the totals back into component parts.
It was a battle between scoring analytically against overall enjoyment (which wasn’t reflected by the analytical approach). It sort-of reminded me of an old joke my Father used to make about an over-scientific approach being detrimental (the joke was in a medical setting).
“The operation was a success, but the patient died.” This became abbreviated after any unfortunate outcome to the comforting
“Well the operation was a success.”
My hearing isn’t so good these days so I often have the YouTube subtitles on and it (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng4705MW0Sk&t=3h12m20s) reads “
Moses sadly is going on a journey”. HaHa! I guess it means Psych0sis. Anyway if I understand correctly, while he’s away to
get milk, how about considering a female player/FM author as a Podcast partner? If it’s a long term vacancy perhaps you may care to consider a different guest reviewer for each of the next 5 podcasts?
I haven’t heard all the podcasts but enjoyed the ones I have. Thank you. :D

Haha, that was a joke (I hope :( )

Ah! Did I mis-hear? Mis-read? Replaying that (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng4705MW0Sk&t=3h12m20s) bit I guess I misunderstood. I have no excuses. I was working out who Moses in the subtitles was. :D I can't even say
“Well the operation was a success.” :tsktsk: :o :o :o :D

Hey, thank you for you interesting comment. I totally agree and think that what you say about the pros and cons about the rating system totally nails it...and the "dadjoke" actually is a great metaphor for that.
And to make clear what I meant with Psych0sis going on a journey, it was a joke. He had a different opinion than me so I just joked that "sadly he can't be with us anymore ;) " - little moses :D
Besides Pukey Brunster (we talked with her about her awesome first mission "Morbid Curiosity") all the potential female guests denied our request and even Pukey needed some convincing. I don't know if women maybe are not so interested being in the spotlight or my invitations are not inviting enough but that's what it is. So even if Psych0sis would go on a journey (he would be back very soon, the speedrunner that he is) it would be even harder to find a consistent female podcast partner I suppose. I'd love to have more women (especially authors) on the podcast because I think its very interesting if there's a difference in the way they create missions and how and by whom they get inspired. Hope this answers your question, but if anybody would have an idea who would want to join...but I think I already asked all the female authors that created influencial/interesting enough missions to talk about :/
Having different people on of course is great, BRETHREN was a great additon this time or skacky and Dominus on the Daniel Thron episode...but I have to admit, after a series of many guests, I really enjoy the coziness of just talking to Nex and Psych0sis now and then ;) before we cover some interesting guests again. Home Sweet Home

Many thanks for your reply Supremcee.
Yes I heard the podcast with Pukey and thought it was very good. I remember her saying she was passionate about bringing mood and ambience to missions and wondered how she and Tannar split their responsibilities on The Scarlet Cascabel. Similarly with other successful partnerships, but before I say anymore and make a bigger fool of myself :tsktsk: I need to listen to all podcasts. The three of you are doing an excellent job :thumb: and I’m glad nobody is going on a journey (certainly not Moses). Tomorrow I’m going on a journey to the pharmacy to buy something to wash out my ears.:joke:

Thank you for your kind words :) and I appreciate it that you go through our taffing long episodes even with your limited hearing...that is quite some effort. Hope to keep you entertained in the future

Hey Taffers,
I hope you guys are all fine, the last year hopefully hasn't been too mean to you!
So as some of you might have noticed, there hasn't been an episode in a while now. It was simply because of private and job life (new job with alot of new responsibilies etc) so replaying, analysing missions and finding time and dates for recording/producing/publishing was a bit too much the last months. But now I feel the urge to go on with the podcast an create some new interesting episodes. so far the good news.
The bad news is that our much appreciated partner Psych0sis also is very busy. So for now he sadly can't be a part of potential future episodes. Of course we hope that this situation might change one day but for now we have to dispense with him. Psych0sis you are a great addition to our team and nobody could replace you. But still we need to find a solution for the future because just the two of us (Nex and me) seems a bit odd. At the moment there are ideas but they are just vague theory. So I'd like to invite you Taffers to share your ideas on how we should go on. Maybe one or some of you would love to join regulary and fill the gap? or any other ideas? maybe you say just nex and me and a guest now and then is fine for you. Please let us know what you think and feel free to inspire us.
Of course one or more regular/maybe changing but constant partners would be great. If so there are 2 things: A at least decent microphone (can be a headset but I want to keep the soundquality of the IAL staff as it was so far) and if you have some (or alot even better ;) ) DromEd knowledge would be amazing.
But let's see what you guys come up with :)
(In 2 days I'm on vacation, so hopefully when I come back home, I find some interesting answers here)
Thanks in advance!
Greetings, Alex
