new midwife. - by Eldron

No problem at all, It's only posed after modelling it up, its essentially exactly the same proportions as the old one, so that is no problem :)
I think their system was based largely on their gigantic library of motioncaptures, so they could just bring in a mesh and have it be rigged automagicly, its fast, and most enemies in ss2 are based around this rig.
Now it's not something that you would do today, it just doesn't work, rigging is a form of art, deformations in thief and ss2 are quite bad, it has to be done by hand to really look good.
but as I said, they could bring in and edit meshes easily without having to worry about the rig.

So... what ever happened to a download link for this?
The_Raven on 20/5/2009 at 02:01
I don't think there ever was one.

That's a delicious midwife you got there. Yum yum!

This is really cool. I hope you find a way to work the model into the game.

Hi... long time SS2 fan.
Anyway...
So, I joined the forum just to offer my praise for just how absolutely amazing that midwife model looks. If you did your own Rebirth/SHTUP model/texture pack, I would cry tears of joy.
Well done. :thumb:
Sorry... that is all.

Bumping this thread again, partially to ask why Eld never sent me the model to rig and get into the game, and partially to muse that DDFix would allow character models with very high-resolution textures, without requiring re-UV-mapping.
