Not sure I can wait, and isn't Vega supposed to be a high-end thing comparative to a GTX1080? I'm not going that high-end, in fact I'm getting more and more comfortable with the idea of a RX 480 or GTX 1060. I don't need a high-end card. In fact I was perfectly comfortable with my GTX 960 up until the Wildlands Beta a couple weeks back, which was really the first game to put it under heavy strain.

There's going to be a refresh of all the parts, including the 480. What that means is, even if you don't want anything from the 5xx family, prices for the 480 would be set to fall as well. If nVidia responds with something after that, there'll be a bit more price equalisation from there.
Of course, if you can't wait, that's your call. Just keep in mind that the 480 and 1060 are good for 1080p if you dial down settings on really demanding games, but VR does need that little bit more juice.

You don't get it Sulph, I AM DYING HERE without smooth VR. Waiting a month, or two, or FOR ALL ETERNITY for... what, a €50 price drop? I don't think I could handle that, man.

Fair enough, henkester! While I don't recommend doing anything right now because games aren't getting less demanding on hardware, it's your time and enjoyment, and I know that feeling too well. Go with god. :D

Hmmm... That looks a little blurred. Are you sure you have the right drivers installed? :)

Yay! Let us know how much of a difference it makes.

Uh, well, I ran Robo Recall, which was kinda stuttery. Then I made sure I had the latest Windows update and run a clean re-install of the Nvidia drivers. Then I ran the 3DMark "Time Spy" test and things are not looking good. Not sure if you can see this, but (
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/18675277?) here. Especially not when compared to other computers with (
http://www.3dmark.com/spy/29067) the same GPU and CPU.
Fucking computers. Gonna have to investigate.
edit: ah, ok, figured it out. Same issue I was having (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146843) last summer. My Power plan was set to High Performance instead of Balanced. Switching it back made everything better. Ran the 3DMark test again and got a (
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/18675632?) much better score. Not quite as high as the other benchmark I linked to, but certainly good enough. Weirdly enough, I checked my Power setting last week and it was definitely set to Balanced then, not sure what made it switch over. Maybe installing a new graphics card?

:-/ Yeah, that doesn't sound good. Fingers crossed that you'll find a solution, because it should obviously run much better.
Edit: Hooray!
