The new Girl Talk album just came out a few hours ago and before musicblogs and youtube videos start listing everything that's been sampled on it I figured we could make our own game out of it right here on TTLG. Download the album, for free, (
http://www.illegal-art.net/allday/) right here. (150MB)
The first two tracks unfortunately start things of with a lot of rampantly misogynistic raps. It's like the dude needs to reassure everyone that he's "all man" despite having a name like Girl Talk right up front or something. Sheesh. Thankfully it gets less wince-inducing from there-on. Track #4, "Jump on Stage", is my fave so far, the Wu-Tang/Radiohead and Beastie Boys/Iggy Pop sections on it are both brilliant.
Track 1:
Black Sabbath - "War Pigs", Dorrough - "Ice Cream Paint Job" :D , Missy Elliot - "Get your freak on", Ramones - "Blitzkrieg Bop"Track 3 "That's Right":
Terrorsquad - "Lean Back", M.O.P. - "Ante Up", Beyonce - "Single Ladies"Track 4 "Jump on Stage":
Big Boi - "Shutterbug", Radiohead - "Creep", Ol' Dirty Bastard - "Shimmy Shimmy Y'all!", Iggy Pop - "Lust For Life", White Town - "Your Woman"(for about 1 second) Lady Gaga - "Disco Stick?", Beastie Boys - "Hey Ladies"Track 5 "This is the Remix":
Herbie Hancock - "Rockit", Jackson 5 - "Want you back", Beastie Boys - "Intergalactic", The Grateful Dead - "Casey Jones", Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom PowTrack 7 "Get it Get it":
Lady Gaga - "Bad Romance", Aphex Twin - "Windowlicker", Black Eyed Peas - "Boom Boom Pow", M.I.A.? - ?????, Rage Against The Machine - "Killing in the Name", ??? - "Hotel Motel Holiday Inn?", Daft Punk - "Digital Love"Track 12 "Every Day":
Jay-Z - ???, John Lennon - "Imagine", Bun B or UGK - ???

Are you guys going to join in on the fun anytime soon? If you don't I'm going to have to assume that everyone has downloaded and just doesn't recognize any of the samples and subsequently I'll have to declare myself the most music-knowledgeable hipster-douchebag on TTLG. Has it downloaded for you guys yet yet? Check your Download-windows(Ctrl+J in Firefox)! Is it at 100%???? If so
unzip that shit
enque that shit
play it
I listened to the album one and a half times today. It's good. At least as good as Feed the Animals and Night Ripper. It is a bit high-energy though, making it a bit annoying to listen to in one go. Just pick out the tracks you like and put em in your partymix is what I say. Lots of brilliant pairings like M.O.P. and Beyonce and plenty of unexpected cuts(Madness! Aphex Twin!). The track "Jump on Stage" alone is worth the effort of downloading it. Get to it!

Give this thread a day or two to get going, henke. I'll be in as soon as I get this one on my ipod.

I would participate, but I don't like Girl Talk at all, so I don't think I want to listen to the new album either.

Also also: holy shit, spoilers are already all over wikipedia
