SS2 was running lovely on my ancient ti4200. Today I installed a 7600 GT (AGP) and now it won't load. I get the error 'Direct 3d driver does not accurately report texture memory usage'
Can anyone help??

Why didn't you check the help thread right at the top of this page? :erm:
But adding safe_texture_manager to cam.cfg in your SS2 folder will most likely fix the problem.

I did check the help file at the top. I looked through the main post and this error didn't appear to be mentioned. I didn't wade through dozens of other pages though, so I'm sorry . . .
Thankyou for the fix though.
:)
EDIT - I have just noticed there is an additional FAQ that I didn't see. So again, sorry. I know how utterly bananas some people can get, and how an entire day can be completely ruined, when a thread appears which happens to be totally unnecessary.

It's easier to first look at the sticky written in red, then if you don't find your answer there try the 'How to run...' thread :)
I find it curious how many new members manage not to notice the FAQ. I honestly don't know what could we possibly do to make them more noticeable :(

Put it in huge red letters on the signup page too? :p

 Put a pron site banner below the FAQ thread link!

Isn't it getting time to add to the first post of the FAQ? There are quite a few problems not mentioned in there, and most people aren't desperate enough to look through 800 posts in search for their answer.
