Oh come on now guys... Judging the game so harshly on a little video.
Let's see the reviews.
I judge it by ALL the videos and cgi movies and promotions they did until now.
And they do not instill confidence, even if RPS is raving about their playsession with it.
And all those videos tell me is that it will be a shooter in 3rd person with some 1st person thrown in
now and then (not the other way around they like to pretend).
And the dialogues and cutscenes I have seen/heard don't seem like they improved on the old
game (that had funny dialogues and bad floating camera cutscenes).
It's like dozens of good fp games that came after DX never happened.
Everything they show is - for me personally - not immersive. They don't even try.
Not to say that it won't be a good game in its own right but I can't see any DX in there besides
using names and tech ideas from the game run thru a "we are not ashamed" blade runner/gits
filter which does not instill confidence in their artistic abilities.
and now the retardo-highlightning and the "what do I care" response by a designer
that cites 100 playtesters as his main source of inspiration.
I will probably like the game and be glad that it exists but DX ? no way.
I stand by Alpha Protocol being the only game that came a little close to having a DX "spirit".
e.g. Bioshock did everything right with their ad campaign. I really believed it will be the 2nd coming of good old games in new clothing. see how that turned out. So maybe, maybe this time I will stand corrected and the bad ad campaign for DX3 will get us the 2nd coming of good games. I sure do hope so.

Regarding 1st vs 3rd person stealth, the former is simulated stealth, the latter is arcade stealth as, put simply, one can not look around corners without looking round corners, unless "vicarious astral projection" is now a default biomod.
I think in trying to impress the greatest number of people, they are just turning this into a console-style (e.g. MGS) stealth-shooter rather than trying to stay true to the DX method of giving you the most control. It's the "let's make this a bit easier" mind-set which will make this seem like yet another inferior DX sequel I think.
It is apparently too much to ask to be able to lean - how realistic, if we are going to eschew the "stick to cover" and actually crouch behind boxes, is it going to be to have to crouch-strafe the whole body to see what's happening the other side? I'm sure it'll be a good game, but I am a bit disenfranchised with the game as a DX sequel and annoyed that the IP hasn't been taken forward by someone more into risk-taking.

Gosh those screenies look ugly. If I wanted everything to be drenched in yellow, I would just adjust the color balance on my monitor. Come to think of it, if the finished product really is that yellow, I can always change the saturation to compensate. It is almost like TDS, where everything was drenched in a dull blue. The difference is, blue is (as stated earlier) more relaxing on the eyes.
There's a reason almost every version of Windows has had elements of blue in the UI.

Actually, with those orange outlines on everything it looks a lot like (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tkW-QsRknU&p=278F0AEA33DA2184) the nightmissions in Halo ODST, which I'm playing right now. Can't say that one's made my eyes tired, then again I'm not sure I've ever played a game that made my eyes tired. So maybe you guys are just a bunch of pussies with weakling eyes. MAYBE. :erg:

The exact same highlighting is in Crysis 2. and it didn't bother me at all throughout the game. I'll take their word for it that it's the video exaggerating it.

It reminds me of Blender.
