Narrated gameplay footage showing three different ways of tackling a small portion of an early level. Whoever playing here obviously has played this level a few times before so it feels a bit mechanical. But I look forward to playing the game myself. I like exploring every little nook and cranny in games and I very much appreciate one which rewards you for doing so.
Also, I didn't notice earlier, but Jensen sounds a lot like actor Timothy Olyphant. That's a plus! :D

I really hope those button prompts while in the cover system or for takedowns are less prevalent after the tutorial level is completed.
And you need your ears checked. Dude sounds absolutely nothing like Olyphant.

needs much more orange. much, much more.
and I suggest making everything 3rd person because looking at Jensen jerk himself up and down
those ladders and between perspectives makes 1st person seem superfluous.
1st game ever to make you seesick.
other than that: nice HUD, awesome gunreload, nice backgrounds and sounddesign.
If not there from the start I'm sure mods will remove all the
"PUSH ME" "HIT X TO WIN" or "EPIC KILLCAM" prompts.
Any word on tools/mod possibilities yet ?
PS: talkin about stealth, they did not show if you can distract guards. let's hope their AI does not magically know where you are if you make a deliberate noise (throwing stuff). well, in the combat approach they seemed rather stupid. "where is he ?" well, where the gunfire came from, stupid

That object highlighting has to go.

I've just seen a DX3 video it looks ace one question the interactive item highlighting can be turned off
No it belongs to the game experience. It's more visible in the videos than in reality. Believe me it is not as immersive as it can seem. No complaint recieved from 100+ playtesters who played the game RT
Two things:
* David Anfossi, lead designer, is dumb to the point of not knowing the meaning of immersive
* David Anfossi, lead designer, relies solely on the opinions of 100+ playtesters to design a game
This tweet is the most elegant and concise way of highlighting what's wrong with current gaming.

Other than some overly gamey design decisions (the 3rd person ladder climbing more than kinda sucks), it's looking fairly decent. The tutorial level wasn't quite up there with Liberty Island as far as pure openness and variety of choices goes, but there's more promise here than not.
Weirdly enough, the 3rd person crate hide-a-thon and orange glow around objects didn't bother me too much. Yeah, they're a little cheesy, I'll admit. But the way I see it, the original DX would've been just as great even with those same gameplay features, so they're not exactly grating my nerves here. It's something that'll throw me off at first, then I won't even notice later on...provided the rest of the game is good.
It all depends on how everything is put together, and just how much freedom we actually have throughout the course of the game. Hopefully, they understand that entire levels need to have multiple approaches, not just multiple paths through specific situations. If they at least got this right, then it'll probably end up being pretty decent.

I just watched (
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/deusex3/video/6304183?tag=topslot;title;4) this video and it looks pretty good to me. Coming from the perspective of having never played the original deus ex game (at least not yet), I don't have any pre-conceived notions on how the game should be. That's why I'm curious what TTLG deus ex fans have to say about it, but I also want to throw in my two cents.
So it actually seems pretty cool, the fact that there's more than one way to go about solving something. That's promising. Of course, the person playing in the video made it seem all too easy. I also think the glowy crap is silly, but at the same time it didn't seem overly obvious and didn't seem to be much of a bother actually. In fact, you might argue in game terms that it is justified, seeing as how your character is this augmented person who can do stuff normal people can't. (You could argue it's part of some sort of vision enhancement tool or something, I don't know.)
@Briarios H:
I think you're being a little harsh. It's obvious he's not a native speaker of English, I think what he meant to say was that it's "not as intrusive as it might seem."
I do agree however, that just because 100+ playtesters likes it does not necessarily mean it's a good design.

Between the monochromatic level design and the neon outline on every usable object, this is looking more like TRON 3.0.

He originally made the mistake in his native french though. I agree it's probably a simple lapsus, and I won't deny I'm being harsh for the sake of it but when you're supposed to be accounting for something a lot of people are interested in, I think you should read what you write before tweeting it.
And I just can't get over the playtesting thing. IMO in the recent years focus testing and the holy grail of tester representativeness has brought more bad than good to games. Ah, elitism.
