Well, this thread was a'dyin on the vine (and probably misplaced) in CC, so I repost it here...


I have a couple of concerns/suggestions about the new UBB:
1.) Brrr, I was so looking forward to UBB buttons. But now that I have them, I don't use them! I find it very disjointing to have a separate box pop up and have to close it when I'm done, takes away from the flow of the typing of the message, derails my train of thought, and is about as much trouble as just putting the [ i ] and [ /i ].

Would it be possible to make the UBB buttons work just like the Graemlins? So when you click them it just pops the tag to where your cursor is in the text, just like the Graemlins do?

2.) Is it possible to add a radio button to the Profile (and thus to the cookie) as to whether we want to automatically check the signature box at the end of the posting screen? I always tend to forget to "uncheck" it, and therefore my sig is all over my posts and I prefer to use it sparingly.

If we were able to set it in our Profiles, we could select "don't" if we wanted to, and could always check the box on the posting screen if we wanted it for that particular posting. Signature preference seems a pretty basic switch to me that merits a Profile spot.

Varyk, you have echoed my feelings exactly regarding the UBB buttons, and just so that you know... I've been working on a way to alter that so that I can propose it to the others. (stay tuned)

As for the signatures, we agree as well... You can expect to at least see a signature limit in place pretty soon, which will significantly cut down on the sig spam we've been experiencing.

Little improvements as we go along :)
