I'm open to the idea of adding an Author column. I've reviewed some of the NDL code and it looks like adding an Author column will be possible, as will making it sortable. Less straightforward will be working out the author from the readme. Most of them have a line such as "Author: someone". That's probably as reliable as it can be.
An existing feature is the FM tags system, which includes author: someone. They can't be used to sort, but they can be used to filter.
Font size can be scaled globally from Control Panel, though this might be too much a blunt instrument. The readme can already be scaled on its own using Ctrl and mouse wheel.

Yes, I kind of accidentally discovered that using the mousewheel with the CTRL key modifier increased font size on the txt/info files, which is more important than a larger font in the main file manager window, i guess. Your program kind of reminds me of another excellent file manager/launcher for mods for the Doom community called (

I'm sure NewDarkLoader will be equally flashy in future builds since you seem to be dedicated to regularly updating it.

I just started using NewDarkLoader and am having a small issue. I am getting each FM listed twice, once with its .zip extension (which shows the readme files as well) and once with no extension, just the name of the FM file (no readme present). My FM archive is C:\GOG Galaxy\Games\Thief 2 FMs. Poking around a bit it looks like they also exist (unzipped) in the FMs folder inside the Thief 2 installation. Choosing to play either seems to load and play OK.
I am sure this is user error, but I'm not sure what to change and would appreciate any advice.
Thanks.
NVM: just hit uninstall on the ones with no file extension and the got cleaned up....shoulda thought of that earlier.

No, but it does support subfolders within the select FM archive folder.

The problem I have is I have multiple folders on multiple drives. I am officially requesting this ability be added in future releases. :)

The program has 44 references to the user's FM archive path, and changing the code to consider multiple paths might create a spiral of complexity, so for that reason I'm not keen on making this change.

I've decided to have a go at adding support for multiple paths, but I'll have to proceed carefully to make sure I don't break anything. Hopefully you'll offer to test it when it's ready.

Suggestion...
With FMs potentially containing multiple readme files, is it possible to switch over to the other one to read if I needed to?
As it is, once I select one, it permanently keeps that one as the one to load each time I select it. Even after I remove it from NDL.

Actually you can already do that. Right click the fan mission name and left click edit fm details. The readme choice is at the top of the menu that appears. Choose the one you want. Hope this helps.
