It's hard to tell without more info.
Go to Thief2\FMs\NewDarkLoader.ini, and in the [Config] section type in Log=1 on its own line. Run the game again, and then go back to the FMs folder. You should now see a file called ndlog. Post its contents* here or in a PM to me, and I'll see if I can identify the cause of the problem.
*Surround them with [noparse]
[/noparse] tags to keep the post/message compact.

Code:
Log file: 11/29/2017 11:44:28 PM
Game: C:\Games\Thief2\thief2.exe
Archive Path: C:\Games\Thief2\
Installed FMs: C:\Games\Thief2\FMs
No FMs found.
[/noparse]
which is very interesting it won't find the list even after the first time it found and i played it when i returned to it later in few minutes to hours to play other missions ... it doesn't find it ?

By quoting my post you confused yourself because quoted posts show
all the formatting tags. My suggestion was to use code tags only. The purpose of the noparse tags in my post was to stop the code tags being processed so that you could see what to do. But since the log file is so short it made no difference.

That's been set incorrectly. That's your game installation folder. The archive path should be where all the FM zip files are stored.

Okay ... looks like i had done it correctly ... exactly where C:\Games\Thief2\fms is where the fan Mission Zip is located ... but it keeps pop up saying "the selected archive folder is actually your installed FMs folder"
do i need to move FMS folder out of Thief2 and put in Game folder but as (Thief 2 Fan Missions)?

The folder itself should stay where it is (and it should contain the file NewDarkLoader
.ini), but all of the Zip files need to be moved to some other folder. Once you've done that, run NewDarkLoader again and tell it where that folder is.

I am trying to play the Thief Gold FM "Between These Dark Walls" in windows 10.
only this one Thief Gold FM is installed. no other Thief Gold FM's. TFix_1.25c is installed.
I double click on the Thief Gold desktop shortcut. NewDarkLoader opens.
I choose the FM Archive Folder and click "OK"
In the FM list, I see "Between these Dark Walls"
I click on "Play Between these Dark Walls" and the mission starts fine. So far, everything is fine.
I exit the game, and double click on Thief Gold desktop shortcut.
NewDarkLoader opens. Archive folder is already selected. I click OK.
Here is the problem: the list of FM's is an empty grey box.
I close NewDarkLoader. I delete NewDarkLoader.ini in the Thief Gold /FMs folder.
Then, I double click on Thief Gold desktop shortcut.
I choose the archive folder and click "OK".
In the FM list, I see "Between these Dark Walls"
I click on "Play Between these Dark Walls" and the mission starts fine.
***I must delete NewDarkLoader.ini every time I want to play a fan mission***
NewDarkLoader1.5.5 contains this file:
7z.dll 11/18/2010 893KB
But I choose to keep my 7z.dill because it is newer and larger
7z.dll 10/4/2016 1049 KB
All other files in NewDarkLoader1.5.5 extracted normally (without any issues/problems)

Could it be possible to pin this thread? If think this is a really good alternative to the classic DarkLoader nowadays.
Nightwalker on 14/12/2017 at 16:43
There are too many threads that are worthy of being pinned at the top so instead, if you check, you will see a (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139559) Links thread. The first post includes links to all the threads of importance, including loaders, all sorted out for your convenience.

I've not been able to recreate the problem, and I happen to be using the 2016 version of 7z.dll.
Please edit the NewDarkLoader.ini and in the [config] section add this on its own line:
Log=1
Run NDL with the FM, until you encounter the problem, then post the contents of ndlog.txt (which will also be in the ThiefG\FMs folder).
If necessary you can use [noparse]
[/noparse] to keep things compact.

There are currently two Thief Gold FM's installed.
But the FM box is empty and grey.
If I exit NewDarkLoader, delete NewDarkLoader.ini , and restart. Then, both FM's appear in the FM box and can be played.
Code:
Log file: 12/15/2017 7:42:55 PM
Game: C:\Thief Gold\THIEF.EXE
Archive Path: C:\thief_gold_archive_folder
Installed FMs: C:\Thief Gold\FMs
No FMs found.
Update:
I changed the FM Archive Folder to a random folder.
C:\temp
Now, both FM's appear in the FM list and can be played.
